The Predictions Are In! Kanye West’s ‘Ye’ Album Set To Sell…

Published: Monday 4th Jun 2018 by Sam

Kanye West created quite the storm ahead of the release of his latest album ‘Ye.’

Initially greeted with mass excitement, the rapper’s rollout became a Pop culture polarizer.

For, his questionable affiliation with Donald Trump and claims that “slavery was a choice” left many of the star’s own supporters at odds with him.

And yet, there still existed mass interest in his project. Specifically about whether it would pop or flop.

Well, the early forecasts are in and finally provide an answer. Of sorts.

Full story below…

According to Hits Daily Double, ‘Ye’ is on course to open with the following:

175,000-190,000
[Sales Plus Streaming]

*******
70,000-80,000
[Pure Sales]

*************

As ever with Kanye, there are multiple means of looking at this.

On the one hand, it’s a far cry from his heyday digits and arguably proves that not all publicity is “good” publicity.

Yet, in the grand scheme of what folk are selling, it’s definitely not “bad.” Especially after the ill-advised TIDAL roll-out of his previous project ‘The Life Of Pablo.’

Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see whether Kanye Kardashian can maintain his momentum or whether his numbers are front-loaded.

Notably, none of the tracks have been paired with visuals yet. So that’s definitely a point to consider on the streaming front ahead of their arrival. Then again, are folk rushing to watch Kanye like they once were? Tabloid Kanye? Of course. Artist Kanye? Jury’s out.

Again, time will tell.

Your thoughts?

Kids See Ghost has to happen first before the official cancellation lol ? Kid Cudika better come through! Drakesha dropped that weak song I’m Upset, so I’m just laughing at how my coins will remain secure if I don’t see some growth…and if Cardi made the best rap album of 2018 over all the men I will lmao ? Whitney’s bathroom slays all the men too so far, including Pusha…Pusha can keep those songs tbh ? If I want classic, I’ll just listen to The Purple Tape! ??

    • booo June 4, 2018

highly doubt he sales even those numbers on this GARBAGE album! He Sucks

  2. Demarcus June 4, 2018

I actually really like this album! Those numbers aren’t bad at all. I love “Ghost Town” btw.

  3. Bey Is Grown June 4, 2018

Sam said Kanye Kardashian, lol. I thought that he’ll do more pure sales.

  4. Lol June 4, 2018

This is definitely got a great look for him especially because he only got 70 or 80 pure sales. So people really aren’t rushing out to buy his album. And he didn’t even need videos because he was already in the media being talked about and some of the songs were done just in the last few weeks. This is definitely nothing his can brag about. Even Eminem sold more with his album and it never even went gold (at least I dont think it did). The real story is the next few weeks. It doesn’t have great reviews so he’ll need all the attention he can get.

      *not

These are good numbers. Kanye is still a star, but he seems to be more “art” and controversy now than hits.

And no, the numbers will not grow when visuals are released. Do they ever? That is a component of a vanished paradigm. It no longer takes a video to sell a song, since many listeners (like me) don’t usually even look at the videos will music is playing.

    • NeuRoses 45 June 4, 2018

What’s good about them? He had everyone’s attention and couldn’t even scrape 100k purely. Shame upon shame!

    When you do clownery….

  7. ??? June 4, 2018

lmao issa FLOP chile, no way to spin it, especially when people like post malone sold double that amount lmfaooooo

  8. ??? June 4, 2018

Well on one hand, in this day & age those numbers aren’t bad. But for someone as self deluded & full of himself as he is in thinking that he’s a “genius”, these number are tragic. Especially given that it doesn’t seem like it will even sell Gold in pure sales.

      I see no lies

While I’m very impressed this album only has 7 songs (love that thriller had 9). Kanyes album title and packaging has been lame asf for about a decade now starting with 808s heartbeat. And idk why my favorite track ye vs the ppl isn’t on the tracklist given the title. I’d buy it if minor adjustments were made starting with stupid cover art. Kanyes perception of art is satanic and corny. Haven’t bought Since late registration

  10. Diabetes unbothered June 4, 2018

Ye vs the ppl would have made a way better album intro than killing you… Wasted potential… Video wuldve been epic. At least this album better Than Justin T but that’s not saying much

    • Fancy BISH June 4, 2018

      lol ?

  11. LostOne June 4, 2018

I’m NOT a Kanye fan but these are gud numbers for a person wit so much bad press. He don’t have a single out and the album didn’t get any promo n he about to do 200K?. Y’all comparing Kanye to post Malone smh. Post is a new artist out with a huge #1 single and a huge #2 single ?

    • Naughty One June 4, 2018

Girl stfu, these are horrible numbers for someone of his caliber, anyway you try to chop and screw it! You’re obviously a fan. Sorry girl, he flopped, and you’re a flop too for thinking these are good numbers.

  12. Jasmine (The Real Jasmine) June 4, 2018

With all the promotion and press he should have pulled higher numbers. I think he was banking on huge streaming numbers out of curiosity. Everyone is talking about his album so his numbers should be higher.

  13. F* that P*** RKELS June 4, 2018

For all of you jokes that streamed or dl’d this mess; your ancestors chose & even welcomed their enslavement just like you chose to support this hot mess by rolling over and forgoing the vaseline…. @ me all you want; you still got live with yourselves after this.

    • Jasmine (The Real Jasmine) June 4, 2018

Bootleg Downloading is okay. It does not help his album sales or streaming numbers one bit. Now for the real streams and digital downloads….let’s not forget that the majority of his paying fanbase are white. Kanye has aged out and there is Drake, Migos, etc that satisfy the needs of the younger hip hop consumer base. Older fans tend to want their money’s worth and 7 tracks aint cutting it for streaming or download sales or even the street bootlegger selling bootleg cds 4 for 10 bucks.

  14. DanYiel Iman June 4, 2018

Still not a fan & since slavery was a choice I didn’t let my wallet support such clownery!!

  15. The Wig Snatcher June 4, 2018

Black Twitter lost again on trying to take another good Black man down. Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  16. eric June 4, 2018

What fools are still supporting this man??

  17. Tino June 4, 2018

It blows my mixed he even sold that much SMDH this generation just continues to let down

    • Tino June 4, 2018

      Mind*

  18. Liam June 4, 2018

Aside from his antics the album was good and basically that’s all I care bout the music which he delivered!

  19. Caleb June 5, 2018

These numbers are too good considering all the trash he’s been doing and saying lately and the people he’s aligning himself with. Chrisette Michelle faced such a backlash for performing at Trump’s inauguration while Kanye has gone out of his way to meet with Trump and declare support for his policies.

  20. Anne June 5, 2018

Momentum? Doesn’t seem as though he has any in the first place.

  21. Stella L. Crews October 12, 2018

I am not a follower of Kanye West, I like oldies, but to ignorantly state the slavery was a choice – I’d like to know his reasoning – no, waIt, I don’s think that brain can produce a context. I’ve been afram for 68 years and he is not my ambassador to anyone in politics or music. – slc
