The CGI works better in some places than others, but holistically this made for a compelling watch. One which sees Ms. Grande up her personal ante visually.

Is she doing absolutely nothing with her face on purpose or….. what? Tyra or somebody really needs to teach this girl to smize because there is nothing there. And that’s partially why she especially looks like a little girl playing dress up in this vid. There’s no fire. Like how these kids who go on tv sing Celine, Whitney, and Mariah (and they sing well) but they really don’t know what the song means, theyre just singing it to be singing. That’s how this looks.
I do like the song. But this video? Nah. They really shouldn’t have put so much money and effort into that terrible song NTLTC. It was Ariana’s first song back. It was gonna do well regardless.
I know what you mean. I have the same feeling for Selena Gomez. Though Ariana and Selena are grown up women now, I still see them as girls. They have like no sexappeal, even though they dress like grown ups and try to act s***. But I‘m just not seeing it.

This was definitely one of her strongest visuals, but I did not get the scene with the groundhogs. She might be on to something though because men will do anything for p u s s y.
the groundhog day reference is her reliving the screaming kids dying at her show every day and feeling hopeless.

Horrible. Dave Meyers videos are so hit and miss. He also uses the same concepts over and over. Like I like his work with Kendrick Lamar but hated all of Ariana’s videos as well as Justin Timberlake’s.

…if you’re going to use the Lords na.e in vain, ATLEAST LET IT BE SOME SPECTACULAR S***. This reminds me of when Kanye or Jay Z say it in songs that hold no weight. This is just basic as s*** and doesnt even fit her. This reminds me of Tinashe (not in a bad way), she could’ve worked the song better. Her album is going to flop mad crazy. WTF do these artists be thinking hyping up these basic lackluster songs?
Her content just seems too mature for her . She looks like a little girl lipsyncing to an adult song … & she doesn’t serve the fierceness the song calls for , to me she just comes off way too young.
The hammer throw scene where she dubbed the scripture … was just so terribly executed, I thought she was an actress ? lol . She looked like a kid play miming in her bedroom mirror to her favourite scene from a movie .
All that said , I do love Ariana And I loved the concept of the video . But She just lacked the fierceness the treatment called for.
There is no cohesion between any of the themes and concepts in this video, and Ariana appears stiff and lifeless. Janet was a MUCH better force from outer space in “Feedback”. Don’t copy the queen if you can’t do it justice.
