Nicki Minaj‘s reluctance to physically promote her music in the United Kingdom continues to confuse her fans in the market now that her new single is ‘Bed’ is making substantial gains…with little support.

The track, which features Ariana Grande, is the latest to be lifted from her forthcoming set ‘Queen’ and like 2012’s ‘Va Va Voom’ is soaring on the Official Singles Chart without the backing of a single interview or performance given by the rapper.
For, powered by numbers fuelled for by pure sales for the most part, the single rose by four spots in the last week and is outselling Grande’s ‘No Tears Left to Cry’, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s ‘Apesh*t’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ and David Guetta’ and Sia’s ‘Flame.’
Brilliant, as it reaffirms Minaj’s popularity in the market. Frustrating, as one wonders how many more units the Hip-Hop royal would sell if she realised it.
The track’s pure sales extend the entertainer’s run as the highest-selling/charting female of rapper of all time in and outside of the U.S.
For, despite the absence of a #1 single, the rapper has sold more physical units than her game-changing predecessors Missy Elliott and Lil Kim.
Her numbers soar even higher once streams are thrown into her discography’s sales mix.

Nicki has not sold more physical copies than missy and Kim. Streams does not count. If u take out the streams she is not the best selling.
Did you not read?! She HAS outsold them without streams. Kim and Missy were impactful but they were not huge sellers. You better hope the RIAA doesn’t put out everyone’s real stats and expose how little some of these artists we love really sold.
I don’t understand how anyone who claims to know about music can argue that Missy and Kim outsold Nicki. I prefer Missy’s music to Nicki’s but you have to remember that she and Kim began to experience a downturn in popularity ten years into their careers (the mid 2000s). Nicki has literally outlasted and outsold them with fewer albums and in less time. It’s not shade and it doesn’t mean her music is better. It’s just a fact. Assuming that someone outsold someone just because they came first is very backwards. For example, there would be no DC without En Vogue but DC sold more records. Coming first doesn’t automatically mean you’ll always be the highest selling even if you’re music is selling.

Missy has sold more in pure sales as far as album sales go in the US anywAy. So has Lauryn Hill. That is a fact. I can’t say how it is internationally though.

Have you seen evidence of this deal or you just going by what Remy said? Nicki has endorsements and other things going on so she doesn’t make money solely from her record deal.

First of all, I didn’t start off talking about no Grammies. Second, you may be right about Missy but kim only has 1 grammy. Third, if Nicki’s catalogue is so forgettable how come she already made history in female rap? She broke records and been out there doing it longer than any other female rapper.
