At long last, Ariana Grande‘s fourth album ‘Sweetener’ is available for download and streaming in full.
Admittedly, although kicked off by the Max Martin-produced top 10 single ‘No Tears Left to Cry,’ the project has not been greeted with the buzz that’s forerun its three predecessors. Nevertheless, with top 20 single ‘God is a Woman’ and the Nicki Minaj-assisted ‘Light is Coming’ to light its path to digital shelves, the album goes to chart battle against today with hopes of becoming the singer’s third non-consecutive chart-topper.

I’m a little past Halfway through it. And issa hot mess. Ariana doesn’t have half of the attitude necessary to pull off these tracks she was experimenting on. Like on r.e.m. it sounded better the way Beyoncé sang it. And I’m still processing the Sweetener song… I cannot. Who told her that was okay? Pharrell needs to sit down.
Finished it. It’s her worst album. There are some good bits and pieces scattered throughout. I would listen to “everytime” and MAYBE “get well soon” again, But overall it is terrible. I honestly feel so bad because I can tell she really thought she was doing something. She tried.
Here’s the issue: God is A Woman is trying to be Mariah’s Anytime you Need a Friend but Ari starts to blow at the end and falls FLAT. Where are the VOCALS??? Why didn’t she Slay it like Fly Like a Bird??? She has the Voice……. What a Disappointment all that Buildup and it’s like 2 seconds of Singing…BullS_hit.
Sounds like she is trying to be RNB but it just doesnt work for her because she doesnt have the skill to sing those type of songs… Uhhh this is not goood girl! Uh its a NO!
Y’all listen to it and let me know how it is first. Because I’m really not motivated. This album cover alone discourages me from listening.

Me either I skipped to the missy song played a few others then went back to Aretha. then watched Braxton Family Values then played Aretha again. maybe ill try later. After I watched Janet’s new video and played Aretha some more.
I think this is an OK body of work. It’s not her best however her vocals are strong. Album is very cohesive but no pop out tracks besides God Is a Woman, Successful is a cute Lil bop, Borderline is dope. Congrats Ari but get back in the studio and give us more of you.
This album is straight garbage. Gurl you tried it. How dare you. F**** sweetener I’ll take my coffee black for now on. Building this shît album momentum up since spring. Next time just drop the garbage immediately so we can move on.

So far I like Borderline that’s sadly short smdh Ari including Better Off why they had to be short
I’m more than half way done and I only like the singles and better off. The rest of this album is way too repetitive and the hooks on some of the songs are awkward as hell. Especially sweetener and successful. Those songs were cringe worthy bad.

After all this hype and waiting we get this? I am not shook after TLIC and GIAW tbh , I am disappointed to say the least. Ari never fails to deliver a good body of work but this?……… i don’t have harsh or negative words but it’s not enjoyable expect for NTLTC

Oh how the mighty have fallen. It’s reductive and generic garbage. Once again Pharrell proves that he recycles his beats unless your Beyonce or Britney. She’s really messed up by working with such A small pool of producers. Best songs are breathin’ and everything. The singles are okay too. The whole concept is horrid from the platinum wig, upside down portrait, the styling. Keep it girl. 40k sps is my predition
Pharrell and Max production is trash lately and this is evident in Sweetener. Her vocals are strong and mature on this album but the songs are the problem.

I’m halfway through it, and I’m extremely in love with it. Ariana definitely experiments with her sound on this album, and it’s actually refreshing. This album is very cohesive. It has an electronic, moody vibe. It almost sounds like something Janelle Monae would do.
I can see why people wouldn’t be extremely into it, but calling it trash is a reach. There’s an awkward elegance to it since it was produced by Pharrell— and that’s what I like about his production. It’s not perfect. It’s awkward with subdued electric beats. I like that she’s experimenting with her sound and her era’s creativity. The visuals are all so connected.

Just no….like GIAW is great, NTLTC is good, TLIS is so bad….and then this album is just lost in space…like what was she thinking….who said this was good enough to come after Dangerous Woman…oyeeeeeee Breathin’ is the only song i can f*** with it…sorry Ari….
People will always have something negative to say – after all, which artist always satisfies ALL their fans AND casual listeners? As a casual listener it’s clear from the metaphoric upside down cover (her world has been turned upside down after the terror attacks) to the song titles ‘NMTLTC’ (have cried to the point where she must move on) to the lyrics on ‘Breathing’ (advice given to help her through the post traumatic stress of the terror attacks) and the overall mid tempo vibe of the album – Ariana Grande is a Pop Star battling depression.
Yes it was a mistake to let Pharell produce so much of the album, because he’s not been poppin’ in a LONG time and the tracks end up just sound like filler and even less substance than usual.
For the artist she is – there’s a lack of anthemic fun Pop (I’m So Into U, Bang Bang, One Last Time, Break Free etc) because she can’t carry songs that aren’t high on melodies and Pop hooks. Even the standout album tracks are missing (Leave Me Lonely, I Don’t Care, Only 1, Be My Baby)
She’ll really need to mix her discography if she tours because this album is quiet sombre. A long essay perhaps but I see people coming for her without seeing the elephant in the room. ??

The songs not the only problem with this album, the fact that Ariana’s voice again has no variation and runs at the same pace and pitch throughout which makes it grate.
I didn’t care for any of the singles thus far, Borderline showed promise but tbh reminded me of a 702 leftover track from their STAR album which Meelah, Irish & Misha would’ve sang it much better. REM isn’t bad but would’ve been sung better (and with more feeling) but 5th Harmony or Little Mix. The rest is just background music.
Her worse release to date. I’m suprised she has not dedicated a song to the 22 people who died at her concert. The number 22 is singnificant to the illuminati, the God is a woman track, is promoting the Devil, ‘you’ll believe’ as a key lyric. Does anyone remember her debut? there was huge PR gimmick about her and a bomb years ago, which they made happen, the whole upside down imagery is again satanic. She is there new poster girl. This album is a hot mess, is sad some people are still are not awake. That’s all, facts are facts.
