Fans anxious to see how Ariana Grande would fare on this weekend’s premiere of ‘SNL’s 44th season were dealt a crushing blow when it was confirmed the songstress dropped out as the evening’s musical guest.
As has been widely reported, Grande has been mourning the unexpected death of rapper/ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, so much so it was announced she is set to take a year off of recording for “time to heal” (click here to read more).
Never to fear, however, as Kanye West‘s coming to the rescue:
The longtime-running live sketch comedy’s creator and executive producer, Lorne Michaels, revealed West will be the musical act for this season’s opening after Grande canceled her scheduled performance.
“We had Ariana drop out for emotional reasons two days ago,” Michaels said. “And then Kanye stepped up, so he’ll be there.”
Note: The interview was recorded on September 17, 2018 but not released until September 27th.
The performance will arrive on the day ‘Yandhi,’ the rapper’s long-awaited new album, hits digital shelves.
Which means I’ll pass on this episode because I don’t c*** for Koonye Kartrashian!!??♂️

Especially considering her hype this era has come and gone, she refused to do any heavy promo again because she basically got her feelings hurt during the DW era, NTLTC came, stood in the corner and left, TLIC wasnt even aloud in the party, and GIAW is on it’s way to hell along with its Beyonce 2017 Grammy inspired performance. We knew from how lowkey everything was and how slow everything took that this era was going to be laid back and a holdover, BUT B**** ITS DONE ALREADY?
You are so dumb. I don’t even stan for Ari like that – but even I’ve seen the news and her tweets. She’s said she can’t do loads of promo like DW because it made her sick (probably exhaustion). And that was before the Manchester Terrorist attack at her concert…
Why do you think she is upside down on her album cover? She either has post traumatic stress or depression following the attacks, the album cover is a metaphor for her world being upside down. She’s spoken openly about the meaning of songs on the new album (Breathing, Get Well Soon) and she was recovering – then her ex dies – surely you can work out why this era has turned out the way it has and girl needs some space ??♂️
And record companies want long term investments returns – they would rather she get better in a year than drop her and risk losing out of future album sales (of which she has a good track record so far).

She’s kind of a flop & I think this is all a ploy.. she’s going to stop promoting this flop album that’s awful & get to work on a new album and come back with an emotional first single.. maybe finally she can get a #1 singing about Macs death? .. she was suppose to be the next Mariah, but live performances, music & hits have not brought her to that Level of Mariah.. in Mariah’s first 5 years she was already legendary with classic hits and a Christmas Staple.. arianna has a pony tail ?♂️
“Ariana has a ponytail” lmao. Unfortunately yes, she’s definitely a relative flop. Which means she’s seen really good success, but it’s nowhere near being proportionate to the amount of push she’s gotten. The input and the output don’t measure up. Positioning her to mimic Mariah was a mistake. She hasn’t seen a fraction of that kind of success. And never mind Mariah, most of the mainstream artists today accomplished way more by their fourth album, or we might as well say fifth album. Because this Sweetener era was over before it really started. It had ZERO impact. A relative flop.
