Ciara delivers the ‘Dose’ with her dynamite new single.
Produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, the track makes no apologies for its dancefloor agenda. Much like its predecessors ‘Level Up’ and ‘Freak Me.’
This, though, aims to hit even harder and is being worked as the official first single from CiCi’s upcoming seventh studio album.
Take a listen below…
With its pulsating bassline, insanely infectious hook, and dynamic drums, ‘Dose’ evokes a strikingly similar energy to Destiny’s Child‘s ‘Lose My Breath’ – another Darkchild production.
And we’re all sorts of here for it.
Sure, there is the question of where this fits in the current minimalist-mumble-mania climate, but we salute CiCi for bringing dance jams that are authentically her – in a refreshed way.
Now bring on the inevitable slay of a video!
IM GUESSING SHE LOVES TO FLOP BECAUSE THIS SONG AIN’T IT.
Freak me is way better. This sounds like her overdose song or something by danity kane
I Love this song. This is a good single for Ciara. I’m looking forward to hearing her new album. This will chart once the video drops.
With some dynamic choreography and a dope video, this COULD make some “noise”. Although I bought it, I am anxious to see what urban radio and the GP response is…
Issa NO. I liked the first 2 singles but not this one. Sounds dated and old to me. Darkchild is so 1995
Dark child was barely even out of the gospel industry in 1995. Girl ??You??Are??Always??Off. ALWAYS
You stupid bish. Dark child actively started his career in 1995 but didn’t blew up in 1998-2000 with a string of hits,
@meme right.. like I said he BARELY started in the in the industry. He was producing gospel prior to having a few minor things in 95. So to say he’s so 95’ when he was hardly known and just starting and not “poppin” in 1995 is OFF GIRL. He was not in high demand or even popular in 95
Timberland did the school band beat sample first with Lil kim’s Jump Off, so that’s that on that.
This is ok, more of an album track. I hope she try different subject matters, because this is very One Woman Army.
Dark child did it too with Lose My Breathe
Like I said, Timbaland did it first with The Jump Off (2003)
Destiny’s Maids Lose My Contract (2004)
I’m starting to suspect that Mark111 is another one of TRASHmine’s troll accounts.
She needs an R&B track
This album is already looking like a flop
Cohesion all over the place…
The song is ok, I”m gonna need a remix asap. Still doesn’t feel like that single she needs to kick off the new album, but this is Ciara pattern since Fantasy Ride, she dropped a bunch of false start buzz singles before she released Love s** and magic and then was able to release the album on the buzz from that song. I feel like we gotta one more song coming before the record label is comfortable with announcing a release date for the album.
The love s*** and magic you speak of went Platinum… just saying ? don’t @ me this is childish.
Lose My Breath is still THAT girl!
Nice try tho, Ci.
I like this song & it has an ole school style & I’m here for it!!
What in the High School Musical 2006 is this? No man smh
They should push freak me more put out a video it’s better than than this one
LOVE THIS!!!! MAKE A VIDEO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As an album track is this okay – but it’s a step back from ‘Freak‘ which sounded fresh and current. ‘Level Up‘ got a pass because it was infectious and cute with a video that nailed the song concept.
Rodney may have produced some great tracks in his time – but this is just lazy B side material. WHO in C‘s A&R Team is looking after her musical direction? As someone said, no cohesion or clear musical direction. Not a good look for the album.
it’s cute…sounds like a leftover from an earlier album… pop music is in a weird space right now where r and b has been for a while, there’s no distinct sound now that hip hop has become the number one genre, and everybody outside of it is just hoping something sticks
All I can think of “Lose My Breath”, which is a better song.
Ci-Error clearly has a FETISH for FLOPPING. This song is GARBAGE and will go NOWHERE FAST! Bye girl!
It would be tolerable as a new song in 1999, but not in 2018.
