Published: Sunday 16th Sep 2018 by Sam

Ciara is wasting no time detonating new single ‘Dose.’

Fresh from debuting the dance jam on Friday, the singer took to the streets of Edgewood in her home State of Atlanta to film its accompanying video.

Backed by an army dancers and drummers, CiCi showcased slick choreography and all sorts of swagger.

Diane Martel, who helmed the clips for ‘Promise,’ ‘Like A Boy,’ and ‘Ride,’ serves as director.

Check out clips after the jump…

Looks like she’ll be bringing the heat!

‘Dose’ follows buzz cuts ‘Freak Me’ and ‘Level Up’ – the latter of which went all sorts of viral.

It also arrives just before the 32-year-old hits the road with Bruno Mars on the concluding leg of his ’24k Magic Tour.’

Exciting times!

    Lose my breath video

I was thinking the same thing… still don’t think this single will do much for her!

        Key words: you think
        ?

As much as I want CiCi to win, I want her to win ORIGINALITY. I don’t understand why people get so hyped behind tired AF buck-dancing. Don’t understand why people got excited when Beyonce did it, don’t understand now. Black majorettes have been doing this FOR YEARS and everyone seems to be acting brand new. Why do folks get excited about stuff the person next door can do? Ciara is such a talented dancer, I want her to demand more from choreographers.

While the song is cute, it IS too close (for comparison sake) to Lose My Breath which should be a death-knell as an artist. I fault Darkchild for that one. And unless this is one SMALL portion of a more original video, buck dancing in the street just feels blah….

Lose My Breath came out over a decade ago and a generation ago so it has no bearing on this song at all. 2004 to be exact. Dancing is always going to be a part of music culture and I think the style of dance in the video above goes well with this type of song.

I agree, ciara’s Visual will slay “Lose my breath” with the choreography alone. Don’t get me wrong, i love DC ands that song, but it’s a different song, a different artist interpreting that style her way. The song hit’s and a whole culture that loves this majorette bounce will love it too, and use it in there routines, and you will all DEAL!

        @Star82

Loose my breath is an iconic DC classic! Ciara is a great dancer but her song ain’t on DC’s level vocally, musically, & production wise… I’m sure she will be dancing up a storm still doesn’t mean nothing when the song will suffer on the charts… don’t see it going anywhere tbh…

Dancing will always be a part of music culture, but a quick glance through YouTube will show you that there are much more innovative ways of using dance than buck dancing. ESPECIALLY when it’s already being beat into the ground by the biggest pop star on the planet currently. I’m an hbcu graduate who’s been looking at bucking for 20 years. Just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it isn’t stale.

I think I’m with @Ispeakfacts on this one…don’t see it moving the needle. I can admit if I’m wrong, but we will see.

  4. Ricko September 16, 2018

She unfollowed Cardi for what exactly? I’ll pass , where’s Beyonce?

    • Jay Jay September 16, 2018

She never followed her to begin with. Please do your own research lol. Stop listening to ppl from twitter

  5. xedos September 16, 2018

And why is she relevant again?

    • The three sisters September 17, 2018

She’d always been RELEVANT, even though she had poor management and terrible music the past years aside from r&b singles. Can you name three veteran r&b artist other than Bey, Rih & Ci who has active fans following them today?

    Go ahead CICI!!!!!

  7. Yan September 17, 2018

Three singles in and no proper push to any of them. The era barely started and it is already a mess… We root for you Ciara, but rooting only goes so far.
