The brilliant singer/songwriter shared…

I’m writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I’ll be voting in the state of Tennessee. In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.
I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.
So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info. Happy Voting! ???

Swift revealed that she felt compelled to step forward and speak up after learning of Marsha Blackburn’s quest for power and feared what would happen to the lives of women, black people and the LGBT community if she succeeded.

The Far-right star Tomi Lahren was saddened by news of Swift’s brave declaration and shared…

Funny, there’s always been many posts mocking Taylor singing on here over the years… So how comes she’s a brilliant singer now?
Because she wrote this good meaning letter?

Well I don’t listen to her music ? but this message is meant for ALL TO ADHERE TOO!!??/?️‍?

    Okay tay tay!

  4. Whoops ???‍♀️?? October 8, 2018

I mean this is cool or whatever but she was reluctant to voice her political opinions? Taylor hasn’t voiced her opinions about anything unless it applied to her or benefited her. Let alone her political ones. She’s been consistently self-serving over the course of her entire career. Her image has been used by neo nazis and professional racists like Tomi Lahren and Piers Morgan to shame other female celebrities and she couldn’t be bothered. But when Nicki was upset about her VMA nomination for instance, Taylor was quick to voice how she felt women were being “pitted together”. It just seems to me that Taylor has been becoming less and less of the “it” girl because she’s basically a music machine/robot who never bothered to relate to the average person and comes across to most as sneaky and disingenuous. And now she wants to get vocal. Hmm. It’s not like the midterms is the first compelling issue that demanded dramatic attention. I mean seriously, It took her a really long time. Nevertheless, it’s also possible she’s had a personality change and if so, I hope she keeps it up.

Tomi Lahren and Piers Morgan are not racists, you just don’t like or agree with their political messages. The word “Racism” loses it’s power when you apply to situations or people who aren’t racist. Stop being an idiot….

      • Caleb October 8, 2018

No. Actually Tomi Lahren is well-known as a white supremacist since her very first rant in which she chided Beyoncé for not accepting “white dominance”. She spoke about “white dominance” like it was supposed to be a good thing. She is definitely racist and if you can’t see that it says something about you.

    • Ghuyrsd October 9, 2018

Caleb, you are a moron. Tom Lahren is not racist, that is just an easy way for you to attempt to silence her political opinions and discredit her. Just because she isn’t a Beyonce stan doesn’t make her racist, and you are lying about the white dominance comments. Stop being a dumb f**…

  5. G7Pat October 8, 2018

Not a fan, but go Taylor! I kno that was difficult considering her fanbase

  6. Seth October 8, 2018

She should have spoke up in 2016 but I’ll still take her statement now and give some props in return. She has nothing to gain from this but I also think the hype around her has died down so she can finally speak her mind and sales don’t matter as much

The irony is that Kanye is a Trump spokesperson now ??‍♂️

    • stan October 8, 2018

      i know, right…

  8. Haterz Gon’ Hate October 8, 2018

I don’t use her music at all – but she has massive pop culture influence and young fans of all colours who will hear (and hopefully be able to digest) and act on her message. There are just as many young kids of voting age who weren’t woke on this subject as racist white crazies who turned out for Trump, so hopefully this will make a difference.

    • RihSlayedBey October 8, 2018

“Racist White Crazies” <— you are f****** idiot… 60 million people voted for Trump, if you believe that 60 million white/black/hispanic/asian people are racists, you are probably the problem.

  9. Dev October 8, 2018

Well, This letter points out the issues with 1) women 2) LGBT community and then in addition minorities so the headline is misleading.
Taylors attention to the black community has been problematic to say the least, so this wind of change seems nice but i’ll watch this space

  10. RihSlayedBey October 8, 2018

The same idiots praising Taylor Swift for weighing in on politics are the same hypocrites that slammed Kanye for expressing his political opinion. Liberals are morons…

    • Jasmine Da Bi Asian NOT Trashmine or TROLLmine??‍♀️??‍♀️B October 8, 2018

      Rihanna’s a liberal

      • Ghuyrsd October 9, 2018

Rihanna is not a U.S. citizens you bafoon… she has to renew her Visa to legally work in the United States…. so her political opinions are pretty irrelevant to this conversation…
