Toni Braxton will be spreading her buttery baritone across Stateside stages next year, because the legend has announced the ‘As Long As I Live Tour.’
Oh and she’s bringing fellow R&B icons SWV along with her.

The soulful chanteuse will be embarking on the trek in 2019 and will be doing so in support of her ‘Sex & Cigarettes’ album, which arrived in March. It borrows its title from Braxton’s Adult Contemporary chart hit ‘Long As I Live’ – lifted from the LP.

I saw them at Essence Festival and they did great. Tamar is a headache and NOT a professional! Toni did the right thing in removing Tamar from the tour. No seasoned artist should be booking an opening act that cannot play the role of an opening act. Tamar think she is a headliner so Tamar should be headlining her own tour and promoting her last album Bluebird with some new music. If Tamar would have become a professional 20 years ago and just sang instead of talking her career would have taken off but her loud mouth destroyed that.

SWV has a legendary catalogue and Coko is an amazing legendary vocalist. A Toni Braxton fan is an SWV fan, they came out and reigned in the same time frame. Ms King is such a try hard

She canceled – THE FIRST TIME. 2ND SHOW SHE SOUNDED “OK” BUT ALOT OF MUMBLES AND DODGING ‘NOTES”. SETLIST WAS GOOD AND SHE LOOKED BEAUTIFUL. THERE WERE NO “VOCAL’ MOMENTS IN THIS SHOW, JUST GOOD MUSIC, OK VOCALS AND NO VISUALS.
Concert does not start till January. She did not “cancel” anything China. Also, her mentor was Babyface and she sings just like him. The “mumbling” thing is part of her signature sound and any artist that has the whole damn audience “mumbling” with them to their songs got my attention! It is about the feel of her music not reciting every work clearly like a spelling bee.
Unfortunately my experience at one of her shows was the same. A lot of mumbling and she didn’t have the stamina to sing her songs all the way through so she talked through a lot of them or asked the audience to sing for her. I might check her out again tho but I won’t pay hundreds of dollars like I did last time.

Some argue she’s an Alto, others a Full-Lyric Mezzo Soprano with deep lows.

Toni is a contralto just like Anita Baker and Cher.
You’re right in saying Toni can hit Contralto notes, but even at her deepest, Toni still sounds like a woman while an androgynous voice is THE prerequisite for a Contralto. For example, you can’t tell if Annie Lennox (from Eurhythmics) is man or woman. A lot of people mistake a really deep voiced woman for a contralto, even Toni said Brandy is one of the best contraltos out there, and neither are.
