Minaj’s brand new effort is an A$AP Ferg feature named ‘Move Ya Hips‘ which followed the release of the two #1s the rapper earned with Doja Cat and Tekashi 69.
Perhaps best known for their ability to carry a single to glory on the wings of pure sales, the rapper’s fans have unified once again to push ‘Hips’ to the top of the Billboard Hot 100….or at least close to it.

The plan to support the song the good old fashioned way seems to be working. For, the single is currently placed at #4 on iTunes (outselling tracks unleashed by BTS, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton & Lewis Capaldi) and has been streamed over 15 million times across all streaming platforms.
A third of figure can be found on Spotify where the track has earned a little over $20,000 since its due date.

Why they have decided to prioritise pure sales and not streaming figures?
Two reasons. The first?
The group established itself as a record-buying support base at the tail-end of the noughties (and the start of the twenty-tens) when the rapper’s was charged with competing in a world dominated by Beyonce, Kesha, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
The second?
150 streams is equivalent to one traditional unit, which means that the power still lies in the purchase…even in a DSP-dominated market.

Well if you payed attention to her songs that were released there have only been 2 solo songs since queen dropped, megatron and yikes. Both songs actually did quite well, but there was no real push for those to be her first number one single. When say so remix came out we seen our chance and we pounces on it. With pure sales we pushed the Queen to the top of the charts, read the articles. We then realized what we were capable of once we litterally put our money where our mouth was and bought the Queen her first number one. Moving forward we did the same thing with Trollz, which debuted at number one solely due to pure sales. Believe me once she drops this new album, that firat single will be number one, cause thats what we want for her. Furthermore, although she was a feature on say so, she was a lead artist on Trollz. So give credit where credit is due. And wap just feuled the flame. At this point we want every single she drops to go number one. We were already campaigning when the song leaked way before its official release. Once WAP came it was just more reason to try and secure it. And Move Ya Hips is a hit you should have a listen. “Already bodied plain jain and we mobbing now!” We have realized our power and we will continue to utilize it.
