Peep Kelly Rowland on the set of 50 Cent’s new music video for single ‘Baby By Me’, which was shot in Los Angeles recently. Kelly will be starring in the clip as 50’s love interest.

While our views on ol’ Curtis are well documented, there’s no denying this is a good look for Ms. Kelly. I’m loving that she’s upping her visibility in the States; she has the rest of the world on lock  - it’s time to re-establish herself on her home soil. Bring on album #3

Ne-Yo Leaves Stage In Tears During Manchester Show

Ne-Yo Leaves Stage In Tears During Manchester Sgow
R&B star Ne-Yo suddenly fled the stage during his show at the Machester Evening New Arena here in England last night, citing illness. Check out the report below:

There are doubts about whether Ne-Yo will be able to perform at his three remaining UK shows after he was taken ill and left the stage in tears during a gig in Manchester.

The R&B singer, who was performing at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Thursday, was crying after struggling to sing on stage for over half an hour.

He told fans he had never not completed a show before but couldn’t continue with his performance.

Ne-Yo is meant to be performing in Liverpool tonight ( Friday ) and in Newcastle and London over the weekend.

BBC Manchester presenter Karen Gabay was at the concert and said Ne-Yo looked like he had a “really bad fever”.

She says Ne-Yo started his gig 30 minutes late and announced that he wasn’t feeling well quite early on.

“Even after the second song, for a man who is normally so cool, he was sweating.

“He was doing a Michael Jackson tribute and you could see that he was actually struggling to finish every musical phrase. He kept asking the audience to bear with him.

“Then he actually was crying – I thought it was because he had done a couple of Michael Jackson tributes and he was getting a little bit overcome, but it did seem a bit strange – he was very emotional.

‘Floods of tears’

“Then he did a slow song, he was really struggling to move, he was absolutely pouring with sweat, and he went over to a table. He was actually hanging on for dear life and he looked as if he was about to drop then, he looked so ill.

“My friend also noticed that his songs had been shortened.”

Gabay says Ne-Yo then went off for a “very long break” before he came back on stage in “floods of tears”.

“He absolutely couldn’t hold tears back – the crowd were applauding him and he couldn’t bring himself to speak.

“Then he said he’d never had to do this before – he’d never not been able to finish a show – he said it though tears, it was unbelievable.

“He looked like he had a really bad fever.

“Then he went off stage crying.”

Although most of the crowd cheered, Gabay says some people booed.

“Then they announced the show wasn’t going to be cancelled, it was postponed – so in effect saying he will do the show again.” {Source}

I actually feel for Shaffer. Of all the performers out now, I’d definitely put him up there as one of the most professional, one who places a lot of emphasis on the intricate aspects of his performances. So understandable is his frustration at not being able to continue with the show. We wish Ne-Yo a speedy recovery.

The-Dream & Christina Milian On Big Boy’s Neighborhood

The-Dream and the latest signee to his Radio Killa imprint, Christina Milian, stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood radio show this week to discuss their ‘business relationship’, Milian’s new LP ‘Elope’ and much more.
These two really did little to dispel the rumors that they are an item LOL…
Tidbit: The-Dream’s ‘Love vs Money’ album is set to debut at #2 on the Billboard 200, with sales in the region of 150, 000. Not bad at all.

New Song: LeToya – ‘Not Anymore’

New Song: LeToya - 'Not Anymore'

LeToya’s brand new Ne-Yo penned single ‘Not Anymore’ premiered literally moments ago over at LeToyaOnline.com (shout out to Ced!). Keeping it entirely real, I can’t say I’m particularly keen on this one, having given it a few listens. The mid-tempo cut does sound like it has grower potential, yet lacks the spark of first single material and lyrically is kinda ‘been there, done that’ territory for the former Destiny’s Child star. Vocally, she sounds great, I must say.
I still hail her 2006 debut as one of the most solid R&B efforts in recent years, so I’m remaining optimistic about what her sophomore set ‘Lady Love’ (due in April 7th – same day as Ciara’s new LP) will be serving up. For her sake (particularly after hearing this), it needs to be the hotness. Anyway, you can listen to ‘Not Anymore’ below

LeToya’s New Single To Impact Radio February 3rd

LeToya's New Single To Impact Radio February 3rd

With it being almost 3 years (yes 3 years!) since the release of LeToya’s debut album, it’s great to hear that things are finally coming together with her sophomore project. Now that her label Capital/EMI have ironed put their internal issues, it appears all systems are go for the release of Toya’s ‘Lady Love’ LP, which is tentatively scheduled for a March 24th release.

What’s more it has now ben confirmed that the set’s lead single, the Ne-Yo penned ‘Not Anymore’ will be impacting Rhythmic/Crossover radio in the US on February 3rd – meaning, in less complicated terms, we should be hearing it *very* soon LOL. In the meanwhile, you can listen to Ne-Yo’s demo version of the song, which is produced by Bei Maejor (Trey Songz, Mike Jones). I must say, I’m really feeling this one – especially the hook (”Stop, stop…”).

Brandy Performs In Philadelphia

R&B songstress Brandy recently held a private live session for her fans in Philadelphia. The 28 year old, whose latest effort ‘Human’ hits stores December 9th, performed acapella renditions of earlier hits such as ‘Almost Doesn’t Count’ and ‘I Wanna Be Down’ as well as giving a live showing of current single ‘Right Here (Departed)’.

Watching this really does remind me as to why Ms. Norwood continues to be held in such high regard by many. Nearly 15 years in the game and getting better. A rarity. Here’s hoping ‘Human’ does major things for her.

New Songs: Ciara – ‘Explode’ & Toni Braxton – ‘Melt’

With Ciara still hard at work on her 3rd studio LP ‘Fantasy Ride’, a new cut titled ‘Explode’ from the album has surfaced. Earlier this week we posted the 22 year old’s performance of the song at the Wild Jam concert – this is the studio version. Check it out below:

I’m really liking this one; the seductive production and delivery are very in the veign of ‘Promise’ (which IMO still stands as Ciara’s defining track). That said, of the new material I’ve heard from her thus far, very little has stuck out as single worthy – this included. Here’s hoping she comes out with bang when it’s time for the album’s official lead single drops (unsurprisingly, her team are now referring to ‘Go Girl’ as a ‘buzz single’…could its poor performance on the chart have anything to do with it? Pretty self-explanatory LOL).
As previously reported, Toni Braxton is set to make her return to the charts in the coming months with a new label – Atlantic – and partnership with hit-maker Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins. A new song ‘Melt (Like An Iceberg)’ has surfaced as is believed to be from the recording sessions for her as yet untitled new album. You can listen to it below:

Real chill and laid-back, which though sufficient for some, isn’t really cutting it IMO. For Toni to make her mark in the current industry climate, without compromising her sound, I’d be looking for her to channel the sound/vibe she was working with on 00’s hits such as ‘He Wasn’t Man Enough’, ‘Spanish Guitar’ etc. Either way, I’ll definitely be paying close attention to Toni’s new material.

Pussycat Dolls’ New Album Set To Tank

Pussycat Dolls' New Album Set To Tank According to Hits Daily Double, the Pussycat Dolls sophomore effort ‘Doll Domination’ is set to debut in the Top 10 on next week’s Billboard Hot 200 – with sales between 70,000-75,000. While not immediately seeming so bad – considering the current music sales climate – it still must come as a major disappointment considering the high charting of lead single ‘When I Grow Up’, as well as the triple Platinum sales of their debut ‘PCD’ back in 2005. {Source}
One has to wonder where this leaves Nicole, though. It’s increasingly seeming like a case of ‘damned if you do / damned if you don’t’ – going back to the Pussycat Dolls, that is.
