Watch: Alicia Keys Rocks Australia With ‘Girl On Fire’ Medley, Unveils News On ‘AK Vault’

‘Fallin’ singer Alicia Keys seemed to have fallen out of the public eye after scoring her fourth #1 album ‘Girl On Fire’ last year.

But, after hitting the road on a whirlwind tour with fellow R&B flag-waver Miguel, the songstress is returning with the ‘AK Vault’ – a collection of unreleased tunes from early in her career.

Already unearthing one gem from the hidden treasure, Keys gives insight as to what fans can expect form the unreleased composite of tunes and a few other dibs.  This, of course, just days after she rocked Australia’s ‘ARIA Awards’ with a medley from her last studio effort.  See it all below:

Good music alert!

That’s right, if you consider yourself a fan of New Jersey duo ‘P.M. Dawn’ you’ll be pleased to learn that their 1992 gem ‘I’d Die Without You’ has been covered by none other than Alicia Keys!

Just as soothing as the original, Keys’ cover arrives 16 years after it was originally recorded in 1997, hidden within the ‘AK Vault’ and unearthed just this morning.

Watch: Alicia Keys & Justin Timberlake Rock ‘Rock In Rio 2013′ (Full)

They came, they saw, and they certainly conquered.

Just ask any fan in attendance at this past weekend’s ‘Rock In Rio’ and they would tell you with certainty that two of R&B’s finest – Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys – came armed with an arsenal of their biggest hits and, to fan delight, rocked the Brazilian city with two amazing sets.

Joining the like of their ‘Until the End of Time’ and ‘Put It In A Love Song’ co-star Beyonce (whose set can be seen here), Timberlake and Keys offered over 60 minutes of non-stop, energetic entertainment respectively and lent reworked versions of their signature hits.

Looks like ‘Fire We Make’ duo Alicia Keys and Maxwell are looking to make more hot music if his recent announcement is anything to go by.

Indeed, while the ‘This Woman’s Work’ wailer is hard at work on ‘blackSUMMERSnight’ – the second of his critically acclaimed trilogy, recent interviews with Essence and Billboard have lent clues about what else the crooner is hard at work on.

Best of the Worst: ‘Star Spangled Banner’ Edition

 

Fergie, Anita Baker, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Justin Timberlake.

First mention of the aforementioned names usually evoke memories of some of the past two decades’ top pop hits.  However, as our list below details, even some of music’s most prized acts have hit their fair share of sour notes.

Every year on U.S. ‘Independence Day’ the likes of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce are oft-praised for their awe-inspiring renditions of the U.S. national anthem ‘The Star Spangled Banner’, while other renditions of the historical number will go down in history for some less flattering reasons.
