Joining the Elijah Blake led pack of Urban newbies this year comes Angel, signed to Universal Republic.
Responsible for the UK #1 single ‘Wonderful‘, last weekend saw him meet up Kanya King‘s MOBO Awards for an interview centered around his debut album ‘About Time‘.
An interview, which also saw him reveal his long time dream to collaborate with ‘Wish Your Love Away’ songstress Brandy and praise the ever thriving organisation for their support of his work, and the British music industry at large.
Here at That Grape Juice we’re not just keen to introduce you to new talent, we value the importance of following their journey. Case, point, British breakout stars Angel and Cleo Sol (pictured above).
Both are building an ever-growing buzz on home-soil, hence were invited by BBC 1xtra to celebrate the station’s 10 year anniversary by performing a medley of R&B hits from the last decade.
Rising Brit star Angel continues to whip up quite the buzz with his debut effort ‘Wonderful’. And so as to heighten awareness of his talent-filled cause, the Universal Music signee covers one of the label’s biggest hits of the year – Cheryl Cole‘s ‘Call My Name’.
Finding all the notes Cole was looking for and more, the Londoner puts a fresh twist on the Dance hit, soaking it in soulful and melodic brilliance.
Be sure to keep an eye out for this young man, as he looks poised to soar.
Here at That Grape Juice, we’re not just keen to spotlight new talent…but also to follow them on their journey.
Hence this edition of Freshly Squeezed features three faces we’ve introduced you to already – R&B powerhouse Luke James, sultry songstress Cleo Sol, and UK pin-up Angel.
As he puts the finishing touches to his hotly anticipated debut album, James keeps his buzz a’buzzing with the steamy video for ‘Mo’ Better Blues’ (a cut from his “pre-album” ‘#Luke’). Meanwhile, Cleo Sol glams it up in the visual for her summer sizzler ‘Never The Right Time’, as label-mate Angel debuts the video for ‘Wonderful’ – the lead single from his eagerly awaited LP.
