The first single from Ludacris’ forthcoming album ‘Theatre of The Mind’, ‘What Them Girls Like’, surfaced a few hours ago. Produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, the cut also features both Chris Brown and Sean Garrett. Though the chorus is a lil repepitive, I must say I’m overly liking the production on this one (it’s a club banger, no doubt). Luda may just have a hit on his hands with this one.

Will Smith’s much-anticipated new superhero flick ‘Hancock’ was simultaneously released in both US and UK yesterday. Though generally receiving a ’so-so’ response from most critics, the film is poised to deliver Smith’s highest grossing debut to date, with early projections touting somewhere in the region of $80 Million being grossed in its first weekend.
Hit-maker Timbaland and his girlfriend, music exec Monique Idlett, have tied the knot, according to US Magazine:The two wed — in their sweats! — in Virginia on Tuesday by a family pastor.They are getting hitched again in a formal ceremony in Aruba on June 22.
The couple, who are based in Miami, welcomed a baby girl, Reign, last year. (He also has a son from a previous relationship.) He popped the question at Idlett’s baby shower.
Congratulations to Timbo and Monique.

In a recent interview with The Guardian over here in the UK, R&B/Pop star Rihanna spoke about her ‘edgy’ image, asserting that it was her own decision to deviate from the industry norm of ‘long blonde’ hair who she identified Beyonce, Ciara, Christina Millian and Mariah as rocking:“I felt like the whole world had long, curly, flowy blonde hair. Ciara, Beyonce, Mariah, Christina Milian. Everybody wanted to be like everybody else. So I cut my hair and they made me put my long hair back in as extensions. The second time, I didn’t have any discussions, nothing. I just cut it, I dyed it black, I went into the studio making music my way. I found myself all at once. I like things strong, edgy, a little to the left. I don’t like things that are expected – nothing cliched. When I first started, I didn’t know anything. I didn’t really have a say. The second album, I got a little more freedom”
Granted today Rihanna’s image seems pretty legit, I find her comments real hard to swallow. IMO the whole ‘I’m was good girl, now I’m bad…look at my black hair and dominatrix outfits’ was overly contrived and screamed ‘record label construct’.

Keeping the exclusive interviews coming, I’ve just gotten confirmation that That Grape Juice will be interviewing rapper Trina next Wednesday. The Diamond Princess is currently prepping the release of her new album ‘Still Da Baddest’, which drops via Slip-N-Slide/EMI on February 12th 2008. Do feel free to drop any questions you have for her in the comments section. As is usually the case, only legit/genuine questions will be considered. Thanks Snoop Dogg stopped by the ‘Ellen Degeneres’ show earlier this week to perform his latest single ‘Sensual Seduction’. Though kinda weary of the song at first, I have to give Snoop his props -he came with something ‘different’ this time and it turned out great.
In other Snoop news, his reality show ‘Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood’ premieres this Sunday in the US at 10:30/9:30c on the E! channel.

R&B star Chris Brown has stormed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with current single ‘Kiss Kiss’. The song, which features T-Pain, has seen a steady increase in digital downloads which allowed for it’s move into the top spot from #2 the week prior. Brown’ new album ‘Exclusive’ hits stores November 6th.
This must come as a relief to his camp, as there inevitably would have been alot of worry after the first single ‘Wall to Wall’ pretty much tanked. Though ‘Kiss Kiss’ is an improvement on that track, I’m kinda surprised why the label went with both songs as singles as there is better material on the album. Be on the lookout for a review of ‘Exclusive’ later this week or early next.
In news that will no doubt please her fans (and infuriate everyone else), Beyonce is set to release another full-length album next summer. Speaking at the New York launch of the Armani ‘Diamonds’ fragrance (which she is endorsing), the singer revealed her plans to release a new CD, as well as another movie next year – which she hopes will be ’something a little darker, but still musical’. {Source}
