Kelly Rowland’s promotional campaign for her new single, ‘Motivation (Ft. Lil Wayne)’, is officially underway. The singer visited ‘The Breakfast Club’ on Power 105.1 and used the opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics including Beyonce’s decision to leave Music World Entertainment and the management of Mathew Knowles.

It looks like music fans weren’t the only people shocked to hear about Beyonce’s decision to leave Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment earlier this week. The diva’s close friend and Destiny’s Child bandmate Michelle Williams was also quite surprised by the split that many once considered impossible.

As reported early this morning, Beyonce‘s much documented business relationship with her father Mathew Knowles has been dissolved. Announced today in a statement on behalf of the singer, it was confirmed that the controversial Knowles will no longer serve as the superstar’s manager – after guiding her career since childhood.
Perhaps in a bid to counter suggestion of a rift (or just to save face), the 60 year old has released a statement regarding the matter.

Multi-Platinum recording recording group Destiny’s Child made a rare appearance yesterday at Philippe restaurant. The trio, accompanied by Solange and Beyonce’s cousin Angela Beyince, joined together to celebrate Kelly Rowland‘s 30th birthday.

On slow news days such as this, reaching back into the archives always yields some interesting tidbits. Case, point, example, Rihanna, Amerie, and Teairra Mari’s tribute to Destiny’s Child at the 2005 World Music Awards.
Beyond scratching my head at how 6 years have flown by so fast, it was also unbelievable to reflect on the path each of the ladies careers have taken. With Mari clearly billed as the main attraction and Amerie effortlessly making the part her own, who would have thought Rihanna and her mechanical whine would emerge as the most successful. Or have more number #1′s than the group she was tributing? Sigh.
At this point, it seems promo teams should be the ones getting Platinum plaques; for – as Rihanna’s have shown – folk will buy hot doo-doo on a platter. Just make sure it’s shined up real good.

To our surprise here at That Grape Juice, much ado was made about former Destiny’s Child star Latavia Roberson‘s recent re-surfacing. Indeed, a select few have taken aim with her for sharing of the true depths of her story some 11 years after being booted from the group.
With so much He Say/She Say still swirling, yours truly believes it apt to present perhaps the most fair, balanced and well-rounded account of what really went down. Hence, substituting our From The Vault clip this week, will be E!’s 2006 short documentary ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ – which sees first-hand accounts from Latavia, LeToya, and even Farrah Franklin, about their stints in Destiny’s Child. The piece also features sound-bites from Mathew Knowles and other industry figures on the drama that just won’t go away.
