New Song: Dirty Money – ‘Hurt’

 New Song: Dirty Money Hurt

Another cut has surfaced from Diddy and Dirty Money’s ‘Last Train To Paris’ LP in the form of the Drake-assisted ‘Hurt’. The slinky piano-driven track is making it oh-so-hard to knock  this ‘movement’ now, as bar ’Angels’, which I just wasn’t feeling like that, they have been consistently serving up the hotness. Pains me as it may (especially since the least interesting component of the whole project is Diddy himself – which kinda makes the whole thing a sham), I am anticipating ‘Train’ that much more now.

Hit or Miss?

New Video: Dirty Money – ‘Love Come Down’

The video for Diddy’s Dirty Money new single ‘Love Come Down’ premiered a few moments ago. Lifted from his forthcoming LP ‘Last Train To Paris’, the song borders on the fine-line of ‘good different’ and construction work noise. Yet, it still works kinda-sorta-ish. About the video, I’m actually liking this one. Clearly there was a few more $$$ pumped into this one compared to their last video ‘Angels’, which didn’t really go anywhere.

Speaking of not going anywhere, as much as this release and video are very much serviceable, folk just don’t seem to be ‘locking in’ (as Diddy would say) to this Dirty Money movement. I say, at the risk of sounding rather abstract, that it’s to do with the aftermath of the Danity Kane scenario. Diddy P’ed off a lot of folk with the handling of the Danity Kane scenario, and as did Dawn by joining him (although I’m sure most folk would do the exact same thing she did). Whether Dirty Money will be successful remains to be seen.

Tidbit: Diddy knows he’s wrong for them grills. He’s 40 years old for goodness sake. LMAO!

What do you think of the song / video?

Diddy Talks Father’s Murder, Relationships & More

pdiddy Diddy Talks Fathers Murder, Relationships & More

While Diddy’s musical offerings may have you reaching for the mute button, the Bad Boy honcho sure knows how to dish the business when it comes to interviews – well at least when it comes to his recent chat with Elle Magazine. In this revealing interview, which I spotted over at my girl Necole Bitchie, Diddy opens up about the effect his father’s murder had on him, his approach to relationships and more. An interesting, I must say:

Were you a sexually precocious kid?

SEAN COMBS: I was in pursuit of female attention from when I was probably four or five. It started with my mother’s friends putting me to sleep on their laps. But I wasn’t really asleep; I was enjoying the way it felt to lay on a pair of beautiful breasts.

And how did your first time go?

SC: Great, but I’d had a lot of practice from watching this show on cable called Midnight Blue, where they had actual scenes from pornos. Me and Midnight Blue had a Thursday night at one o’clock date—I’d make sure my mother was asleep, take a shower, lock the door, put on cologne.

Wasn’t there an awful lot of talking from Midnight Blue host Al Goldstein?

SC: Yeah, he definitely talked a lot. And he interrupted. But it taught me mind control.

Your dad was shot to death when you were only three. Who taught you how to behave with women?

SC: A couple years ago, my psychologist came to the conclusion that this is one of the big problems I have as far as maturing in a relationship. After my father got killed, my mother said, “I’m never getting married again. I don’t want men around my children.” So I’ve never actually been able to witness a husband and wife’s love. Sometimes when I see it with my friends, I just find myself staring like a child, because I’ve never actually seen it before. It’s one of the sad parts of my life.

So what kind of behavior does this bring out in relationships?

SC: When a relationship gets to a certain point, I probably get scared and become a little self-destructive.

By self-destructive, do you mean going out with other women?

SC: Yeah.

If you get caught cheating red-handed, what’s the best response?

SC: Cry. It might not work, but it at least shows that you care. Goddamn, this is a deep interview. You didn’t ask Will Smith none of this shit!

But we’re making such valuable progress! Just tell me: Are the tears real?

SC: Yeah, it hurts me. One of my weaknesses is that I actually have a conscience.

Wow. This is the first I’ve heard about his father’s passing. Quite unfortunate.

In any case, reading this sure as hell drives home why Cassie and Kim Porter are in the positions they are (see: Monica’s ‘Makings of Me’ LP, track #3). I just marvel at how, knowing this, these chicks still throw themselves at him. Confused.com…

Mase Crashes Diddy Interview; Forces Him To Sign Release Papers! (Drama!)

Peep this recent interview which Diddy and Dirty Money did with Atalnta radio host Ryan Cameron. During the interview, former Bad Boy star Mase (who has become quite controversial over the years) ‘gate-crashed’ the interview with his Bad Boy release papers in hand, with the intent for Diddy to sign them. You can watch what went down above.

Hilarious! It was oh-so-evident that there isn’t the best of vibes between Diddy and Mase, and it really seemed like a last ditch effort on Mase’s part (or so it seemed) after being ignored for so long (???). Either way, next in queue should be Day26, Cherri Dennis and the rest of the Danity Kane chicks (’cause you best believe Diddy must have them under some restricting contract/settlement still).

Diddy & Dirty Money On 106 & Park

Diddy and Dirty Money stopped by BET’s 106 & Park to promote their new ‘Last Train To Paris’ project. As well as that, Diddy addresses his move from Atlantic over to Interscope, as well as the future of his acts over at Bad Boy/Atlantic.

I don’t know if it was just me, but even after Diddy’s ‘explanation’ as to what’s happening with his artists, I was still very confused by what exactly he was trying to say. To be honest, I don’t even think he know’s where he was going with that one. I mean all previous reports indicated that he was starting a new label over at Interscope, with Bad Boy remaining at Atlantic; yet now (correct me if wrong) he seems to be saying his launching Bad Boy over at Interscope with some, but not all of the previous roster. Ugh…confused.com.

Kinda going a tad off-topic, I can’t help but feel Diddy even still having a rap career is nothing more than an ego-stroke. When everyone and their mother thinks you suck as an artist (and have forever), and you struggle to sell despite throwing MILLIONS at your last project (see: ‘Press Play’), why is he bothering? It sounds a bit harsh, but for a multi-million dollar mogul, you’d think he’d be a bit more business savvy than that. When has anyone ever rated Puffy as an artist? It’s 2009, it’s pretty much a joke thinking that in the world of Kanye’s and Jay-Z’s, that a Diddy rap record is gonna excite folks (see: the chart performance of ‘Last Train’’s lead single ‘Angels’).

Diddy Ditches Bad Boy For New Label; Leaves Day26, Cassie Behind

Diddy

Following several weeks of industry mumerings, it has been confirmed that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is leaving Warner / Atlantic Records, and reportedly joining Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope label. Perhaps most shocking, however, is that his Bad Boy imprint will REMAIN over at Atlantic, hence after launching the careers of Day26, Cherri Dennis and everyone’s favourite ’sanger’ Cassie, the mogul is leaving them behind to persue his career elsewhere. Ouch. Peep the report below:

With his contract wrapped, Sean “Diddy” Combs is ankling Warner Music Group/Atlantic Records as an artist, a source confirmed Friday.

Much-rumored departure does not affect WMG’s joint venture with hip-hop impresario’s imprint Bad Boy Entertainment and its acts, which will continue to move through Atlantic.

Bad Boy catalog remains at WMG in perpetuity.

Combs had not been prolific during his five years with WMG: He issued one album, “Press Play,” in 2006. Set debuted at No. 1 nationally.

Recent industry scuttlebutt has placed Combs’ forthcoming album “Last Train to Paris” at Interscope.

Implying a new Bad Boy-styled imprint may be in the offing, Combs said in a statement, “Now that the term of the Warner deal has ended, I have elected to accept an opportunity to move my recording career and future label venture to another company.”

{Source}

With next to no one really checking for Diddy as an artist (I mean come on now…), the real story here lies with the fact that Day26, Cassie and co are set to remain over at Bad Boy. If there was ever a time I was certain an act was set to be dropped, it’s now – unfortunately. That said, for some reason, I feel we’ll probably be seeing the oh-so-talented Cassie have her contract bought out and her make the move over with her lover boss.

That Grape Juice To Interview Wendy Williams

That Grape Juice To Interview Wendy Williams

That Grape Juice has received word that we have interview time with none other than shock jock Wendy Williams!
Having hung up her mic for the last time recently, the famed radio host is turning her attention to her new day-time talk show – which airs nationally in the US – full time.
I guess here’s the part where I say “only *reasonable* questions will be considered”, right? WRONG! With Ms. Williams being straight-talking, no holds-barred, and admittedly “a bitch” (her words, not mine) we want to make sure we conduct the best interview possible. So please drop any questions you have for Wendy in the comments section below….

Confirmed: Usher & Tameka Divorce (See Court Filing)

Confirmed: Usher & Tameka Divorce (See Court Filing)Reports surfaced yesterday suggesting that R&B star Usher has filed for divorce from wife of 2 years Tameka Foster. Today, the speculation was confirmed, with the court divorce filing hitting the net also. Peep the report and the filing below:
ATLANTA (AP) — R&B singer Usher filed for divorce Friday from Tameka Foster Raymond, less than two years after their glitzy wedding at a Georgia resort.

The 30-year-old Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, filed the petition in Superior Court in Atlanta. Records posted to the court’s Web site did not give any details about the split between the R&B star and his wife, who were married in August 2007.

About 200 people attended the wedding between the two at resort built in the style of a 16th-century-style French chateau on 3,500 hilly acres outside Atlanta.

They have two young sons, 1 1/2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 6-month-old Naviyd Ely Raymond. His wife has three children from a previous marriage.

E-mail and telephone messages to Usher’s publicist were not immediately returned.

In a May 2008 interview with The Associated Press, Usher addressed negative feedback from bloggers over his relationship with his wife, who’s 8 years older than him and was once his stylist.

“People are so attracted to drama. That’s easier to take than a story of righteousness,” Usher said at the time.

“I decided to marry this woman, then I decide to be a father to my child,” he said. “… It’s not like I got caught with a gram of coke in my car or speeding or was caught for murder, so why would I be ridiculed, that’s why I don’t understand – that’s the part that is mind boggling. Why would I be ridiculed for that, even a year later.”

Prior to the marriage, Usher had a string of public romances, most notably his three-year relationship with Chilli from TLC. {Source}

Another one bites the dust. Sad. I see a lot of folk rejoicing and suggesting Usher’s career will hit sky high because of this, yet since when should someone else’s sadness or heartbreak be a good thing in the eyes of others?

Check out Usher’s court filing for the divorce below:

Check out The Pussycat Dolls special video for their version of A.H Rahman’s ‘Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)- the Oscar winning song from the hit movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
Same ol’, Same ol’ if you ask me. On a random note, their budget for this their 2nd go round must be hella high. Their ‘Doll Domination’ LP belly-flopped on the charts, yet they are churning out video after video, single after single. For that I can’t hate, keep trying till it works, ey?

Rihanna & Chris Brown Record ‘Love’ Duet

Rihanna & Chris Brown Record 'Love' Duet

As if the media hysteria surrounding Rihanna and Chris Brown couldn’t get anymore, it seems the couple (who recently reconciled) are feeding into it all by recording a duet to affirm their ‘love’ for each other. Check out the report via TMZ below:
TMZ now has all the details about the secret late-night recording sessions between Rihanna and Chris Brown — and they were jam-packed with emotion and serious drama, with some playful touching — seriously.
The whole thing came together when they decided to reconcile shortly after the attack. Sources tell us music producer Polow Da Don convinced both Chris and Rihanna to get in the studio and record a love song stat, stressing that timing was important because the heightened emotions would translate powerfully into the music.
Both Rihanna and Chris agreed and snuck in a couple of “late night” sessions that we’re told were “very, very emotional … the feeling in the room was pure love.” Clearly, love hurts.
As for how they got along, they were “playfully touching each other.”
We’re told the song was originally written for Rihanna before the fight, but after the beat down the producer believed the track — which ironically focuses on overcoming difficult challenges as a couple — would be the perfect duet.
As much as their respective PR teams must think putting on a ‘united front’ will redeem Chris in the court of public opinion and ease the matter, I just don’t see that happening. I retract my statement on Rihanna coming out the winner in all of this. If the reported ‘media blitz’ the two plan on doing, which also includes a stop on Oprah, turns out to be true, I see many people being even more turned off – by them both. IMO the idealist of scenarios would be for them to sit down…fall back…lay low – at least for now. The media have kinda gone overboard with it all and many a folk are sick of seeing the issue pimped.
Any thoughts?
