Much like Bruce Springsteen before him, Drake‘s unique ability to understand and articulate the male voice has made one of his genre’s most valued assets.
A healthier alternative to the superficial and at times mindless offerings oft served up by Hip Hop, his arrival on the scene and subsequent dominance over it marks- as far as we’re concerned- one of the best things to happen for a culture sullied with violence, jail time and short lived successes.

‘You Only Live Once’.
The above phrase, whoever you ask, is just as ‘used’ in the zeitgeist as the ever popular ‘birds of a feather…’ and Biblical ‘do unto others’.

Unfortunately for him, the phrases popularity now sees in the heat of an intense ‘creative’ battle, after a number of retailers began selling ‘YOLO‘ merchandise, without his approval.

Before hitting our screens on ‘American Idol‘ January 16th, Christmas Day saw Nicki Minaj arrive at NYC’s Webster Hall for a festive appearance at the venue- which welcomed 2,500 guests on the night.
However, while the highlight of the night may have been the Rapper’s interaction with the fans that arrived, it was her arrival with a certain Irv Gotti that may leave many an eye brow raised today.
For, despite being cited as one her long time mentors, the one time exec is also cited as a catalyst behind Drake‘s alleged plans to part ways with Lil Wayne‘s Young Money, to which both he and Minaj are signed to.

Though it isn’t as publicized as it should be, ‘Practice‘ Rapper Drake is one of the US’ Top 5 mega sellers- holding more commercial value than acts afforded more press coverage than him.
So, it came as a surprise to many when reports emerged suggesting a rift between he and his Young Money bosses, Lil Wayne and Birdman, over capital owed but not paid to him- prompting rumors that he was to leave the Hip Hop music group.
This week, those reports have intensified.
