Grammys 2015: Lady Gaga & Gwen Stefani Added To Performance Lineup

H&M Holiday 2014

While pop nemesis Madonna may not approve, Little Monsters were thrilled Tuesday night to learn their pop diva of choice, Lady Gaga, had been added to the performance bill of the 2015 Grammy Awards.

Joining jazz icon Tony Bennett, the duo – also nominated for ‘Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album’ – will reportedly render a live rendition of a number listed aboard their #1 duets album ‘Cheek To Cheek.’ Just as news of their live DVD ‘Cheek To Cheek: Live‘ topping digital tallies worldwide floods headlines, the twosome took to Twitter to share their Grammy announcement:

Why Isn’t Gwen Stefani’s Comeback Sparking Any Interest? TGJ Weighs In

gwen-stefani-comeback-thatgrapejuice

It was billed as the comeback of a Pop Titan. However, under performing singles, so-so videos, and invisible radio support, confirm that Gwen Stefani‘s return to the Pop sphere is officially in the danger zone.

Let’s peruse the numbers…

Comeback single ‘Baby Don’t Lie’ peaked at a paltry #46 on the Billboard Hot 100, while its follow-up ‘Spark The Fire’ was released to such a frosty reception in December that it’s yet to chart a month on. Neither track is fairing much better on VEVO. The visual for ‘Baby’ has been lodged at the 13 million views mark months after debuting and ‘Fire’ isn’t generating any heat with just 3 million plays worldwide.

Stefani’s current predicament marks the second time in as many years that the singer has found herself on unstable terrain. No Doubt‘s 2012 comeback effort resulted in shocking sales and an axed tour. Hope for another reunion was quelled upon the announcement of Gwen’s new solo venture – which at the time felt like a fair payoff. Yet, with that now a mucky mess of sorts too, it brings the questions of what went wrong and can it be fixed to the surface.

We weigh in below…

Gwen Stefani Gushes About First Solo Album In Eight Years / Eyes Release…This Month

gwen-stefani-gma-thatgrapejuice

Motherhood, fashion, and a return to No Doubt have kept Gwen Stefani out of the solo spotlight in recent times.

However, the eclectic singer is back and blazing with new single ‘Spark The Fire’ – the latest single to be rolled out from her first LP in eight years.

Hot on the promo trail for the Pharrell Williams produced track, the youthful 45-year-old  sat down with Good Morning America today to discuss the project (which also houses buzz cut ‘Baby Don’t Lie’).

Interestingly, the segment was introduced with the announcement that the as yet untitled project is still slated for release this month. It’s a window which has many surprised given that The Voice coach is still “setting up” the single. Could a unique roll-out be nigh? Time will tell.

For now though, peep the interview below…
