These are the heart-wrenching words belted out by a newly divorced Gwen Stefani on new single ‘Used To Love You.’

Given the No Doubt diva’s split from hubby of 13 years Gavin Rossdale, the timing of the release is particularly apt.

Still, tabloid headlines don’t push songs to the top of the charts these days. Hence, after a solid digital debut (the track hit #2 on iTunes upon release last week), 46-year-old Stefani has hit the promo trail.

‘Ellen’ was the chosen stage to debut the track on TV for ‘The Voice’ season 9 coach.

Singer Starts Afresh With "First Single" From New Album


Gwen Stefani is back!

After a two-track false start last year, the No Doubt nucleus returns with new solo single ‘Used To Love You.’

The emotional mid-tempo, which was produced by JR Rotem and co-penned by Stefani, Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, finds the singer lamenting on a ruined relationship. Timely given her recent split from husband of 13 years Gavin Rossdale.

Speaking of the inspiration for the cut, The Voice season 9 coach says she drew on the “pain and love and my real life,” adding that “this song is really special” to her.

It’s been a rocky re-introduction to the music industry for Gwen Stefani.

2012 brought it the botched comeback of No Doubt, while last year’s solo re-boot was more soggy than success.

Despite the dramas, one arena that has proven fruitful for the fierce feline is television – namely her current turn as a coach on The Voice.

Presently in promo mode for the show’s latest season, the 46-year-old used the moment to open up about what went wrong with her 2014 efforts. She also unwrapped a new song titled ‘Used To Love You.’
