Barack & Michelle’s First Dance; Beyonce Sings ‘At Last’

Barack and Michelle Obama shared their first dance as President and First Lady last night at the Neighborhood Ball in Washington, D.C. Beyonce was on hand, giving a rousing rendition of Etta James’ aptly titled ‘At Last’. Awesome moment.
It really does feel great to be living through history.

New Song: Alicia Keys – ‘No One’ (Remix) (ft. Kanye West)

alikanye New Song: Alicia Keys No One (Remix) (ft. Kanye West) Check out this remix of Alicia Key’s smash hit ‘No One’ featuring Kanye West; the track surfaced yesterday on the rapper’s official blog. Though it doesn’t sound like Alicia re-recorded her vocals, the track is still worth a listen for Kanye’s verse (aside from his faux singing at the start).

It was announced a couple of months back that Justin Timberlake would be re-recording ‘Until The End Of Time’ with Beyonce. Upon hearing the finished product, it’s evident their pairing was well matched. I’m really liking this version of the song, so it’s great to hear that the track is likely to be the next single from Timberlake’s hugely successful ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ album.

Michael Vick To Plead Guilty

michael+vick Michael Vick To Plead Guilty Our American visitors will probably be well clued up on the whole Michael Vick situation as it’s been pretty big news over here. For those not yet in the know, Vick – an NFL player – has been charged with financing and organising the illegal sport of dogfighting. Click here to read more on the story.
After his two co-defendants plead guilty, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback has decided to follow-suit and enter a guilty plea also. Vick now faces up to 18 months in prison. Check out his lawyer’s statement:

“Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made,” Martin said in a statement. “Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter.” {Source}

I’m undecided as to where I stand on the case; on the one hand, I’m not an animal person at all and believe there are more serious crimes i.e. rape, drugs etc that need to be addressed first, yet ‘if you do the crime, you do the time’…
