Jay-Z Talks Kids & Being Married To Beyonce

jayz beyonce

In a recent interview with Sweden’s Kingsize magazine, rapper Jay-Z opened up about married life with Beyonce, as well as if the couple are planning for any offspring any time soon. Peep the interesting quotes below:

You’ve just turned 40 years old, do you have any plans for starting a family soon? You and Beyonce talk about that?

Jay-Z: “I’d like to be a dad some day and I love children. You start your life with expectations and dreams, then life unfolds and it doesn’t always turn out the way you imagined. Life is what it is. And at this point it’s up to somebody else.

Do you consider your and Beyonce’s marriage as role model for a perfect marriage?

Jay-Z: “I don’t think there is such thing as a perfect relationship. It is unrealistic and hoping for too much. I don’t think it is worth all that pressure. We also have our struggles and problems.” {Source}

Hmmm…. at the kids answer LOL. No comment at the silly question at the end. Why do some interviews ask questions that they could answer themselves?! In any case…

Celebrities Line Up For Haiti Benefit Concert

ak giant4 Celebrities Line Up For Haiti Benefit Concert

An extensive list of celebrities are scheduled to lend their support to Haiti during a benefit concert this Friday. The ‘Hope for Haiti Now’ event will air commercial-free on over 12 networks including NBC, ABC, MTV and Vh1, starting at 8pm ET. Carded to make appearances are Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna, Shakira and host Wyclef Jean, just to name a few. {Source}

This is shaping up to be an event on the level of ‘Live Aid’. It’s great to see so many big acts doing their part to help Haiti in the best way they can. However, there is one person who many people have been calling to hit the stage at the event, and that’s Lauryn Hill. Certainly, it would be amazing to see her make a rare appearance to benefit the cause and sing in that way that only she can. After watching Rihanna squeal through ‘Redemption Song’ yesterday, it became only more evident how much Hill’s voiced has been missed over the years.

Jay-Z Defends Kanye West

jayzintvw e1263507913669 Jay Z Defends Kanye West

Jay-Z is featured in the February edition of Interview magazine. The Hip-Hop icon was interviewed by noted critic Elvis Mitchell and discussed a range of issues. Perhaps most prominent were his thoughts on Kanye West’s MTV VMA controversy. Check out an excerpt from the conversation below (Courtesy of Rap-Up.com):

On the VMA debacle: “I just think the timing of what [Kanye] did was wrong, and that, of course, overshadowed everything. He believed that ‘Single Ladies’ [by Jay-Z’s wife, Beyoncé] was a better video. I believed that. I think a lot of people believed that. You can’t give someone Video of the Year if they don’t win Best Female Video. I thought Best Female Video was something you won on the way to Video of the Year. But, hey, I guess it wasn’t—and that’s a whole other conversation about awards shows and artists.”

On award shows: “You can’t have the woman who wins Video of the Year not win Best Female Video. I mean, Herbie Hancock is great, but you can’t have him beat the Kanye album that year. I mean, come on, seriously. That can’t happen. That just lets me know that the people who get to pick these ballots just check the only name they know. I think that’s what’s happening with rap music now.”

Jay Z is usually a man of few words but when he speaks his mind, he speaks the truth. Everything that he said about the awards shows makes perfect sense and can be translated especially in the cases of the MTV Awards and the Grammy Awards. I still find it baffling that Talor Swift’s video was selected over Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’.

Jay-Z: “I’m Not A Member Of The Illumnati!”

jay z roc Jay Z: Im Not A Member Of The Illumnati!

For years there have been rumours circulating about a several high-profile names in the music industry belonging to a “satanic cult” called ‘the Illumnati‘ – and rapper Jay-Z cited most as being a prominent member.

After a lengthy spell of silence on the matter, the 40 year old mogul has addressed the rumours for the first time. Speaking to Ed Lover on Power 105 radio today, he said:

“I think I need to remind people I’m from Marcy Projects. You can’t get into those prestigious clubs. I can’t even get into the golf club in Palm Springs.”

“This rap music and the competitive by nature, nothing really surprises me anymore but I’ll honestly say, that was one that was like a shocker. When you from a certain place, cut from a certain cloth, there’s certain things that’s just off limits. When you cross that line, it puts you in a different box.” I think people are running out of ideas and it’s all marketing at this point. {Source}

I’m glad he finally addressed the nonsense, as his silence seemed, for some, to imply some kind of guilt.

For as much as it’s importance to exercise caution in terms of what one listens to; such assertions have never actually being substantiated, and intensified mainly due to an increase in particular religious DVD’s and websites slamming it ($Ka-Ching$). Come to think of it, surely if these things existed (which, who knows, they could), wouldn’t it be more hidden, as opposed to ‘out there’ for these ‘experts’ to nitpick and dissect? Just a thought…

New Video: Jay-Z – ‘On To The Next One (Ft. Swizz Beatz)’

Jay-Z dominated Hip-Hop in 2009 and it seems that he is aiming to do so again in 2010. The rapper has just released the music video for ‘On To The Next One’, the 4th single from his 11th #1 studio album, ‘The Blueprint 3′. The song features Swizz Beatz who also produced the track. To date the single has peaked at #61 on the Hip-Hop/R&B charts.

This is possibly one of the best videos that Jay-Z has released in his entire career. Visually and graphically stunning, the effects seem tied to the beat of the track. Additionally, the makeup and costumes on the dancers added a haunting element to the clip. I sense that Jay-Z enjoys toying with the individuals who accuse him of being a member of the Illuminati because it is clear that he made a conscious effort to include several forms of symbolism in the production. Very hilarious indeed.
