Hip-Hop megastar Jay-Z kicked off his ‘Blueprint 3′ tour in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this weekend. The rapper performed a string of his hits at the sold out event which was opened by R&B singer Trey Songz. The after party, which was held at LIV in the FountainBleau Hotel, was attended by none other than Jay-Z’s wife, Beyonce. Check out more pics below:

Following their double-win at the BRIT Awards this week, JLS have yet another reason to smile – they have received an endorsement from Hip-Hop superstar Jay-Z.
The boyband, the biggest to emerge from the UK in years, caught the 40 year old’s eye when he sat in the audience at the BRIT’s. Speaking to The Sun, Mr Carter said:
“I liked JLS, I watched them do their show. They’re a good band and remind me of ‘N Sync, a band who do the boy band thing well. They put on a class performance and I think they will go on to be as big as ‘N Sync.”
Erm…ok then…LOL.
I’m not quite sure where or how Jay would have come to such an off-the-mark conclusion, as based on their performance-ability alone, JLS are light-years behind what N Sync were serving up back in the day (and that’s me being extra nice). More than anything though, where N Sync boasted viable solo stars in the form of Justin and JC Chasez (still cheesed off things never popped off for him, then again the material was doo-doo), JLS – to put it simply – don’t.
Still, with the likes of Jay-Z backing them – even if only verbally, the guys have indeed got a much needed boast ahead of their debut in America.
With their Stateside label Jive having already started promo for their 1st single ‘Everybody In Love’, I can not wait to see how the US takes to them. I say this as the guys have been getting away with a hell of a lot here i.e. mediocre vocals, awful routines, and more. Yet with the US – from my observation, (more times than not) calling out the wackness from the jump, it’ll be interesting to see how the boys fare. That said, they are signed to an awesome label there, who will likely promote them to the high-heavens; so maybe, just maybe, we may be onto the next N’ sync….right?
Randomness: Strangely enough, though not taking to them musically, I’m internally glad to see a group like this doing so well (see: Obama effect). If only their talent matched up.

Hip-Hop superstar Jay-Z spoke with MTV while at the ’2 King’ dinner this past Saturday (February 13th) on why he declined an offer to take part in the much-hyped ‘We Are The World 25 (For Haiti)’ remake. The rapper explains, in the video above, that the original should not have been touched, as it’s musical legacy is like that of ‘Thriller’ and can not be rehashed. Interestingly, the 40 year old’s wife Beyonce did not appear either.
While I don’t feel the remake is a patch on the original, I still felt it to be a commendable effort on the part of all those involved. That said, an original song with a similar message may have perhaps been a better option; hence in that guise I see where Mr Carter is coming from.
L.A. Reid held a post-Grammy party last evening. The Island Def Jam mogul celebrated with some of music’s biggest names at the event which was hosted by Jay-Z at Cecconi’s restaurant in Los Angeles. Peep more pics below:

In a recent interview with Sweden’s Kingsize magazine, rapper Jay-Z opened up about married life with Beyonce, as well as if the couple are planning for any offspring any time soon. Peep the interesting quotes below:
You’ve just turned 40 years old, do you have any plans for starting a family soon? You and Beyonce talk about that?
Jay-Z: “I’d like to be a dad some day and I love children. You start your life with expectations and dreams, then life unfolds and it doesn’t always turn out the way you imagined. Life is what it is. And at this point it’s up to somebody else.
Do you consider your and Beyonce’s marriage as role model for a perfect marriage?
Jay-Z: “I don’t think there is such thing as a perfect relationship. It is unrealistic and hoping for too much. I don’t think it is worth all that pressure. We also have our struggles and problems.” {Source}
