Did You Miss It? Katy Perry Belts ‘America The Beautiful’ For Clinton Rally

Pop princess Katy Perry may be taking a break from the promo trail for herself (recently wrapping up her ‘Prism’ world tour on October 18th in Costa Rica), but that didn’t stop her from hopping aboard the promo train of presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton at a recent stop in Des Moines, Iowa.

There, in addition to cranking out a few of her own top hits like ‘Roar,’ the diva roared out a spirited rendition of ‘America the Beautiful’ for the reported crowd of 4,000.

Shortly after reports revealed Kim Kardashian‘s crowning as the “Queen of Instagram,” the annual publication has unveiled its new set of records, one of which sees the Colombian crooner continue to dominate female counterparts Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Beyonce, and more to be Facebook’s potentate.

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

Now, let’s press play on ‘Disturbia,’ a #1 stunner from serial Barbadian hitmaker Rihanna.

Found on the re-release of her 2007 ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ project,  this week in 2008 the song’s ascension to the summit came as part of a summer long ‘musical chairs’ that saw she, gal pal Katy Perry, and rapper Lil Wayne consistently trade spots at the top and in other parts of the top 10.

Fans may remember after she enjoyed a brief run at #1 with her Ne-Yo-penned hit ‘Take a Bow,’ the song quickly bowed out of the top spot to be replaced by Wayne’s ‘Lollipop’ (which was quickly kissed goodbye by Perry’s ‘I Kissed A Girl’).

Katy Perry Covers VOGUE Japan


Katy Perry is a very busy girl.

After scoring praise for the role she’s said to have played in “squashing the beef” between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj the singer has teamed up with Vogue Japan to release her latest spread in the publication.

The performer covers its September issue as she continues to create new songs for the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Prism.’
