Contrary to its title, Pitbull & Ke$ha‘s ‘Timber’ has yet to see a significant fall since its chart debut weeks ago. In fact, the week brings with it news that the pop/rap duo have landed their third week atop the Billboard Hot 100.
Despite significant gains from the likes of Katy Perry, OneRepublic, and Lorde‘s newest single, Pit and Ke$h continue to cash in on their infectious duet.
But, as their grip on supporting charts (i.e. Steaming Songs and Digital Songs) loosens, will it affect their stance at the top? We will see. Until then, check out this week’s edition of TGJ Chart Check for singles…

Well, there’s a twist we didn’t see coming.
Pop chart-topper Ke$ha made headlines for checking herself into rehab for a lengthy eating disorder a week ago – a feat followed by a highly publicized slamming of the singer’s camp by her mother Pebe Sebert.
Now, for what seems to be taking an ongoing toll on the family, Mama Sebert has checked herself into rehab alongside her hitmaking daughter.

It’s been a little over a year since Patricia Sebert, mother of chart-topping songstress Ke$ha, made headlines for sharing her grievances about the industry she feels has had its fair share of detrimental effects on her diva daughter.
After claiming the Illuminati forced her daughter to sing ‘Die Young’, now mama Sebert is back to slam the industry for the ‘Warrior’ wailer’s highly publicized battle with bulimia – a battle that saw her enter rehab at the top of the year.
With her sights set on Ke$ha’s hit-making producer Dr. Luke, see what Sebert alleges about the industry’s toll and Dr. Luke’s direct effect below. The quotes gained so much traction, Dr. Luke lent an official statement in response:

Pitbull seems to have found the key to success – co-stars! Just ask Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, Ne-Yo, and Jennifer Lopez as they’ve all assisted or been assisted by the hit-making Latino rapper over the past two years.
Now, in co-star Ke$ha, the pop emcee has found a new chart-topper in ‘Timber’ as reports surfaced today the tune is set to hit #1 upon the Billboard Hot 100′s forthcoming refreshing tomorrow.
Ousting 4-week champions Eminem & Rihanna‘s ‘Monster’ out of the top spot, ‘Timber’s ascension comes after weeks of playing second fiddle to the second rap-pop combo from Em & Ri – the follow-up to 2010′s ‘Love the Way You Lie’. But, will Pit and Ke$h’s run atop the tally be short-lived?
If you ask Katy Perry & Juicy J, the answer may soon be “yes”…

She may be riding high on charts with her latest single ‘Timber’ with Pitbull, but it seems pop singer Ke$ha‘s personal life is seeing her fall to new lows as reports have surfaced the hit-maker has checked herself into rehab.

‘Love The Way You Lie’ duo Eminem and Rihanna made their way to the top of charts again with their most recent collaboration ‘The Monster’. Lifted from Em’s platinum-selling album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2′, the tune roared onto the Billboard Hot 100 over a month ago and has not seen one week outside of the top 10.
The release of the tune’s accompanying video this week will ensure it stays put for quite sometime…or so we think. Before the duo gets too comfortable, there are a set of other collaborations that threaten to unseat it – Pitbull & Ke$ha‘s ‘Timber’ and A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera‘s ‘Say Something’.
Both of the aforementioned numbers have clocked impressive numbers in the past week, which landed them top 5 placement (#2 and #5 respectively). But, is their rise something for Em & Ri to worry about?

Finally, there is some moving-and-shaking on the Billboard Hot 100!
After weeks of saying newcomer Lorde reign with her blockbuster debut single ‘Royals’, the single is abdicated from its Billboard throne by the unlikeliest of opponents – Miley Cyrus.
Thanks to a viral parody video, Cyrus reclaims her spot atop the singles chart with ‘Wrecking Ball’ – much to the dismay of Eminem and Rihanna fans who were sure the duo’s latest ‘Monster’ hit would scare Lorde from the #1 position. They needn’t worry, however. For, upon debut of its accompanying video, it may be gifted the much needed lift.
Elsewhere on the charts the likes of Kanye West, Pitbull, and One Direction have seen considerable gains and may also be in line to challenge Cyrus’ renewed reign. Unlike them, Cyrus’ former top two contenders – Katy Perry and Lady Gaga – are seeing their respective megahits ‘Roar’ and ‘Applause’ slide downward on charts with the latter finally losing its long-held grip on the top 10.

Fans have fallen in love with Pitbull’s new Ke$ha-assisted single ‘Timber’ - that is, of course, if you’re judging by the song’s current top 10 placement on Billboard’s Hot 100.
Now, in a bid to push the tune to the top of the tally’s ranking, the duo have finally premiered its accompanying music video. Fresh from their electrifying performance at last night’s American Music Awards, the music video serves as the first official single from the Miami rapper’s new EP ‘Meltdown’ (available today).
