Introducing…Rockboi!

In an era of the one-dimensional, it’s often the multifaceted that last the distance. Alas, it’s little wonder why there’s so much buzz for East London’s Rockboi.

The multi-instrumentalist, rapper and singer – who is a brother of hitmaker Labrinth – is now setting off on a journey of his own, with view to conquer the UK urban scene and beyond.

Starting out his industry trek as a producer – remixing everyone from Amy Winehouse to Justin Timberlake, Rockboi signed a publishing deal with Sony in 2009. The opportunity helped him navigate his way up the ranks to work with the likes of Ed Sheeran.

Now, with a sole focus on himself, the budding star has unleashed the video for new buzz single ‘I Do This’. Check it out above and let us know what you think!

As difficult as this will be for us to admit, the majority of UK acts simply aren’t ‘world class’.

Indeed, as talented as they may be, the nation has developed a habit of spawning acts who are more pedestrian than power player, lacking the star quality that comes all too naturally for their foreign counterparts.

Fortunately, in joining the likes of Adele, Emeli Sande, MKS and Ed Sheeran in truly representing his nation abroad, comes Labrinth– the Brit-Pop hit maker behind Rihanna’s ‘Lost in Paradise’!

Unfamiliar with his work?

Peep his performance of ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ live at ‘Billboard’ HQ below!

Introducing….Labrinth

*Pinned: Normal Posts Resume Below*

Many of our UK readers will be familiar with newcomer Labrinth. Having taken the British charts by storm with his production efforts on Tinie Tempah‘s smashes ‘Pass Out’ and ‘Frisky’, the 21 year old East Londoner, real name Timothy McKenzie, is striking out on his own as an artist.

Having captured the attention of a certain Simon Cowell, Labrinth signed to the  mogul’s Syco label (over at Sony Music)  this summer. In the process the eclectic talent became not only the label’s first non-TV-show signing in six years, but also the first to be signed to a lucrative deal which will see him write, produce, and nurture other talent on the label too. Impressive!

Labrinth released his debut single ‘Let The Sun Shine’ today, which looks set to be a hit. Check out its accompanying video below and let us know what you think:
