Chris Brown & Rihanna Drama Update

Chris Brown & Rihanna Drama Update

Peep the pic above of Chris Brown and Rihanna leaving Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party on Saturday, just minutes before the drama unfolded…
It appears the ’squeaky-clean’ image Brown and his handlers have carved out for him since he burst onto the scene 4 years ago is disappearing with much swiftness as a result of the serious nature of the assault charge levelled against him. It’s now being reported Wrigley have dropped him due to this all:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Chewing gum makers Wrigley on Monday suspended a commercial featuring Chris Brown after the popular R&B singer was arrested on suspicion of attacking a woman widely reported to be his singer girlfriend Rihanna.
The clean-cut Brown, 19, one of the fastest-rising stars of the last two years, was free on $50,000 bail, a day after the couple hurriedly canceled separate performances at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
Both the Brown and Rihanna camps were silent on Monday. Police sources told the Los Angeles Times and celebrity Web site TMZ.com that the woman who reported she had been attacked by Brown in the early hours of Sunday was 20-year-old Rihanna, singer of hits “Umbrella” and “Disturbia.”
Wrigley said in a statement it was “concerned by the serious allegations” made against Brown, who was booked by police on suspicion of making a felony criminal threat.
The company said that while Brown should be afforded due legal process “we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown…until the matter is resolved.”
Brown, who was competing against Rihanna in a Grammy category, was a spokesman for Doublemint gum and his hit song “Forever” was part of that advertising campaign. {Source}
There’s no doubt the sudden uncharacteristic nature of this all has rocked the industry. I’m still very keen to hear the specifics of the case, before passing full judgement. I guess in time we’ll have the answers…

50 Cent – ‘Ayo Technology (She Wants It)’ (ft. Justin Timberlake) Video

The video for 50 Cent’s latest single ‘Ayo Technology’ (ft. Justin Timberlake) debuted lasted night. The track is definitely one of the better singles 50 has released from the project so far (which isn’t saying much). The Minority Report-themed video is pretty good too – although it was kinda underwhelming. With ‘Ayo Technology’ serving as the third or fourth single from 50’s upcoming ‘Curtis’ CD (I’m losing count) , the performance of this release will likely determine the success of the album. ‘Curtis’ drops September 11th.

What do you think of the video?

New Song: Mike Jones – ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ (ft. LeToya)

mikejones+letoya New Song: Mike Jones Bonnie & Clyde (ft. LeToya) This new Mike Jones track ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ is slated to appear on his upcoming album ‘The American Dream’ (due July 10th). The track, which features LeToya Luckett, is decent mid-tempo number. However, I’m not really feeling Mike’s talk-singing in parts of the song. LeToya does great on the hook, though. She’s really keeping her name out there in the run-up to the release of her as-yet-untitled sophomore CD.

Whitney Wins Custody in Divorce From Bobby Brown

whitney wideweb 470x365,0 Whitney Wins Custody in Divorce From Bobby BrownWhitney Houston has been awarded sole custody of her and Bobby Brown’s daughter, Bobbi-Kristina (14) in a divorce hearing on Wednesday. The divorce of the controversial couple was been approved by the courts and will become final on April 24th. Check out an extract of the PEOPLE.com report:

At times dabbing her eyes with a tissue during the court session, Houston testified that she did not require spousal or child support and that Bobbi Kristina could not depend on her father.

“He’s unreliable,” Houston said of Brown, according to the Associated Press. “If he says he’s going to come, sometimes he does. Usually he doesn’t.”

Houston declined to comment to reporters after the hearing. Attorney Ram Cogan, representing Brown (who did not attend the hearing), said he will file a petition on behalf of his client to overturn the judge’s decision.

Houston filed for legal separation from Brown on Sept. 8, and then filed for divorce in mid-October.

On Dec. 28, she requested a default judgment to fast-track the dissolution of the marriage.
Since their separation, Houston has been recording a new album with J Records president Clive Davis in Los Angeles.

Whitney ain’t playing. She’s making moves to sort out her life, yet there’s no sign of Bobby doing the same; she deserves Bobbi-Kristina. So much for the friendly relationship Bobby claimed he and Whitney were maintaining.
