Fact: Nelly‘s latest LP ’5.0′ has been as successful as the war in Iraq. However, in what appears to be the smartest move yet in the handling of the project, the Kelly Rowland-assisted ‘Gone’ has been confirmed as the album’s next official single.

Making no secret of their relationship status, Nelly and Ashanti were snapped getting close in Las Vegas last night (December 31st). The pair, who have long dodged questions about their ‘friendship’, were in town to ring in the New Year at Haze nightclub, where Nelly was performing.

Having recently scored a double Platinum hit with ‘Just A Dream’, many were surprised to see Nelly‘s latest LP ’5.0′ under-perform on the Billboard 200 this week.
None more so than the Grammy winning rapper himself; who just moments ago took to Twitter to vent his frustrations at his label Universal Motown - following the album’s #10 charting and 63,000 first week sales.

Rihanna may have gotten loud on her new album but people still couldn’t hear her over other artists who could actually sing. For the 5th consecutive time in her career the vixen has failed to capture the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 as her ‘Loud’ LP debuts at #3 on the tally.
Susan Boyle’s ‘The Gift’ maintained its reign in the top slot this week with another 323, 428 units sold while Rihanna’s record, despite having a much larger promotional campaign, only managed to sell 206,018 copies. Although this is a career best for the Bajan, it was still not nearly enough to trump even Jackie Evancho whose ‘O Holy Night’ album comes in at #2, selling 239,453units.
Another notable entry on the chart this week is Nelly’s ‘Nelly 5.0′ which managed to secure the #10 spot with 62,454. Ouch.

Nelly’s latest studio effort, ‘Nelly 5.0′, was released this week. Featuring collaborations with Chris Brown, Plies, Kelly Rowland, Yo Gotti and Keri Hilson, the record serves as the official followup to the gold-certified ‘Brass Knuckles’ LP.
With ‘Just A Dream’ having sold over 1.5 million downloads (and counting), this album seems to be a true return to form for Nelly. Still, hit singles do not always equate to successful albums.
