As some of you may know, we announced a few months back that you can now follow That Grape Juice on Twitter! Adding to the ever-expanding ways to be apart of the That Grape Juice community, our Twitter page allows you to receive up-to-the-minute updates about the latest posts on the site as well as what’s happening in the Urban Pop Culture world more generally.

It’s so refreshing to see an artist so genuinely psyched to be back doing what they love. There is an immense buzz surrounding Brandy and her ‘comeback’, so things are looking real good for the 29 year old.

Though Solange’s new single ‘I Decided’ was released digitally a while back, it is this, the Freemasons remix, that will be released as her official first single over here in Europe (it is being touted as the ‘Part 2′). Having worked their magic with Kelly Rowland’s ‘Work’ earlier this year, the ‘Masons really came through for Solange; I’m actually liking this mix more than the original. What’s more, considering the music that is dominating the charts on this side of the pond, Solange may just have a chance of doing big things on this side of the pond also.

A snippet of ‘High Price’ (ft. Ludacris), the first single to be released from Ciara’s 3rd studio album ‘Fantasy Ride’ (tentatively slated for a September release) has surfaced. I’ll reserve my judgement until I hear the track in its entirety. I know that I’m definitely on the fence about the ‘voice’ she’s singing in.

In preparation for the launch of her sophomore effort, Solange Knowles looking for musically talented individuals to form a band:

WHO: Solange Knowles, together with Kim Burse of BCreative Productions and Music World Entertainment.

WHAT: Solange Knowles will be holding auditions for singers, bands and individual band members with a great look, strong musicianship and stage presence to become members of Hadley Street Dreams, her band. All members must be able to dance.

WHEN: Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 12:00PM thru 6:00PM. Audition sign up will end promptly at 3:00PM.

WHERE: SIR Studios, 6465 West Sunset Blvd , Los Angeles, CA 90028

WHY: The Hadley Street Dreams, a 60’s inspired full band, will perform all live shows with Solange in support of her upcoming album to be released this August 2008 on Geffen Records, Soul Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams. Needed are:

*2 female background singers (must be able to sing, dance and harmonize)
*1 drummer
*1 guitar player
*2 keyboardists
*1 bass player (must be able to play upright as well)

New York based independent record label TVT Records filed for Chapter 11 aka bankruptcy yesterday (February 18th). The label, home to artists such as Teedra Moses, Lil’ Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Pitbull and Ying Yang Twins, have terminated the majority of their employees. It’s unknown, at writing, whether the label’s release schedule for this year will be affected. {Read more here}

According to NME, Dr Dre’s serially delayed album ‘Detox’ will finally be hitting stores in June. The much anticipated LP, the follow-up to ‘2001′ – which released 7 years ago, was originally set for release in 2004, however has been pushed back continually since then. Dre. 42, will drop the album via Aftermath/Interscope.

The video for Fat Joe’s new single ‘I Won’t Tell’ made its debut yesterday on the rapper’s official MySpace page. Featuring 2007 breakout star J. Holiday, the song is the 2nd single to be lifted from Joe’s forthcoming album ‘The Elephant In The Room’ (due March 11th 2008). I’m feeling the song and the video is pretty good too. See if you can spot cameos by, among others, LeToya, Bow Wow, Christina Milian and Scott Storch. With his post-’Lean Back’ efforts pretty much tanking, I’m sure Joe is hoping this puts him back on the map.

Former Terror Squad rapper Remy Ma stopped by a radio station to respond to a recent diss track directed toward her by Lil’ Kim:

“That little boy better leave me alone,” Remy said referring to Lil Kim. “ She was saying ‘I’m going at [Remy] hard, she go hard to me so I go hard back’. I feel like if that’s going at me hard, like seriously, I’m just gonna chill out. That’s crazy to me.”

“What did she say? ‘Put it on my lipstick, I was to be busy being conceited’. Like, how could you be conceited, you don’t even like your own face,” Remy continued. “ What are you talking about? Are you serious? How was I supposed to take that offensive.” “I don’t believe you,” stressed Remy. “ You don’t like your nose, you don’t like your cheek , you don’t like your chin, you don’t like your skin color, you don’t like your tits , you don’t like your stomach, you don’t like your teeth. What are you talking about?”

“At the end of the day it’s funny to me. When I really feel like it’s amusing, when I feel like someone’s getting at me, then I’ll drag them all over the first spot that I see them of course,” Remy continued. “ But in the meantime, in between time…like this chic has more ghostwriters than Foxy [Brown]. I just feel like right now she’s reaching,”

Hmmm…I like Kim (moreso than Remy), but she can’t be going on at anyone looking the way she does these days. I mean, as much of a mess as Remy is, Kim just..well..watch the vid below to see what I mean:
