Lady GaGa and Katy Perry may have dominated the fourth quarter of this year, but it was Lana Del Rey, Pink and Rihanna who can boast of owning 2013 today, now they have been announced as three of ‘Spotify’s ‘Most Streamed Acts of 2013′!
Katy Perry‘s ‘Prism’ power continues to outshine the competition – a feat we expect to be a mainstay this award season.
For, after storming single and album charts alike with tunes like ‘Roar’ and ‘Dark Horse’ (and their parent album), the songstress can now boast leading the 2014 People Choice Award nominees with a whopping 5 nods.
Justin Timberlake, whose 2013 wasn’t too shabby either (see: best selling album of the year, two #1 albums, and blockbuster tour), also notched 5 nods including listing in categories like Favorite Pop Artist and Favorite Song.
But, while top acts like Demi Lovato, Bruno Mars and One Direction follow with four nods a piece, some fans have griped about the absence of color (*cough cough*) in this year’s nominations list. See it in full below:
‘A silent storm’.
Whichever way you look at it, the best would be the most accurate way to describe ‘Family Portrait’ entertainer Pink, and her ‘habit’ of moving major numbers without the media frenzy acts who hope to move those numbers often whip up for themselves.
For, while many a ‘stan’ finds themselves focusing on the Katy Perry vs Lady GaGa chart war that now ensues, the general public has pushed sales of Pink‘s new album ‘The Truth About Love’ to heights many are simply unaware of.

Fans of “Raise Your Glass” songstress P!nk are doing just that after learning the songstress was named Billboard”s “Woman of the Year”. Adding her name to a long-list of fellow chart-toppers like Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift, the Grammy-winning mom of one has seen the last year gift her with a host of career milestones.
Aside from landing a Grammy nod for her first #1 album on Billboard 200 (“The Truth About Love”), the year also brought with it her 4th #1 stint on the Hot 100 with “Give Me A Reason”.
Now, to top it off, the songstress is taking a leap into acting with “Thanks For Sharing” – her big screen debut. But, while chatting with E! News recently to promote it, P!nk shared thoughts on serial twerker Miley Cyrus that left some of the “We Can”t Stop” singer”s fans in an uproar…
‘Adorn’ divo Miguel was spotted down under on an Australian promotional tour for his latest smash album ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’.
While on Aussie shores the crooner dropped by the “Fifi & Jules” radio show to lend an unexpected acoustic cover of Pink’s 2002 hit single “Just Like a Pill”. Putting a very unique yet soulful spin on the tune, the showing comes to tease fans looking to peep the R&B prince live in the coming months.
Word has it he will be back in the States next month for the “Would Like a Tour?” outing with Drake (kicking off Sept. 25).
Before then, see Miguel in action below and weigh in:
Much like her ‘Lose Yourself‘ contemporary Eminem, Pink has made quite the habit of pulling in major numbers on an albums and touring front, without employing the bells and whistles that oft surround such successes.
Well, that was until today.
For, after breaking a brand new touring record in Australia, the ‘Try’ vocalist has seen her cause celebrated very publicly by the CEO of Live Nation!

It appears there’s no mopping up the bad blood between Pink and rival Christina Aguilera.
For, while Xtina has maintained a relative silence about her views on her outspoken label-mate, “political correctness” has never been on Pink’s agenda — especially when it comes to the ‘Your Body’ belter.
Case, point, during a recent concert in Australia.
Mid-song, the ‘So What’ singer momentarily lost control of her voice — referring the slip-up as “sounding like Christina Aguilera”. Meow, much?!
