R&B songstress Alicia Keys features on the cover of the April issue of the German Cosmopolitan magazine. She looks great. The ‘No One’ singer is currently in Germany on the European leg of her world tour.

Rapper The Game, today, began serving his 60 day prison term for weapon possession:The Game finally showed up to Twin Towers to serve his weapons-possession sentence, and we’ve learned that he’ll be a “keep away” while inside, meaning that he’ll be segregated from the general population while in the joint. {Source}
I’m still waiting for one of these celebs to get a legit sentence and not a slap on the wrist. We all know, had it been a member of the public, the sentence would have been longer.

“As a manager I am not taking something this ridiculous to Beyonce. Beyonce referred to Tina Turner as a ‘queen’. Not queen of gospel, queen of soul, queen of blues, Queen of England. I consider my wife a queen and sometimes call her that. Does Aretha have a problem with that?” {Source}
As much as I r-e-s-p-e-c-t Aretha, I have to side with Matthew on this one. I mean, come on now. Anyway, Aretha should have other things to worry about (hint hint: treadmill).

Controversial former B2K member Raz-B called into New York radio station Hot 97 this morning. Raz, real name DeMario Thornton, thanked everyone for ‘the love’ – yet opted to not directly address the allegations he made. Knowing Miss Jones (the host), she wasn’t going to let him off like that lol.. Check out the interview….Filed Under: Lil Kim, Snoop Dogg
CBS aired the first annual Movies Rock! special yesterday. Taped at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, performers on the night included Beyonce, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige and Chris Brown. Check out the performances below:Jennifer Hudson – Somewhere
Usher – Singing In The Rain
More performances:
Mary J. Blige & John Legend – As Time Goes By
Nicole Scherzinger – Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend
Will.i.am, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J & Eve – Theme
I really liked the concept of the show and enjoyed most of the performances – most notably Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson. Usher’s rendition of ‘Singing In The Rain’ was pretty good too.

Check out this new track from R&B singer Mario. ‘City’, which features Akon, was recorded for Mario’s forthcoming album ‘Go!’, however ended up being left off the final track listing. Though I like the overall vibe of the song, I can see why it didn’t make the final cut; the album’s material is simply alot stronger than this. Still worth a listen, though. {Our interview with Mario will be up on Monday next week}

To be honest I was kinda surprised to see that John is still cranking out singles from his sophomore album ‘Once Again’ ; I thought it was done with. Like the entire album, I’m not really feeling ‘Another Again’ and it’s accompanying video – finding it be pretty much a snooze fest. Whereas John’s debut LP was one of my favourites from 2005, the follow-up was a collection of songs that could easily pass for elevator music. Here’s hoping he delivers with his future efforts.

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson recently opened up about the direction of her highly anticipated album. Speaking with Fashion Rocks magazine, the ‘Dreamgirls’ star had the following to say:Not sure how to read into this one. The quote makes it seem like she has a problem with Hip Hop, but I just see it as her telling it like it is. Nothing she’s done prior to now has been Hip Hop influenced, so why would her album be?

50 Cent is running his mouth again, this time about fellow rapper Nas. Speaking to XXL magazine, 50 had the following to say about the ‘Hip Hop Is Dead’ rapper:You have different kinds of people. You have people that are extremely book smart that lack common sense so they don’t know what’s going to affect their audience. They have more information than me based on reading. For instance, Nas is a really smart guy. He reads books constantly. We were around him on the Nastradamus tour. He was almost weirder than me ’cause we would go to breakfast and he’d be there reading a book. Conceptually, I think that’s what made him drift away from what his initial audience enjoys from him and why he’s not hot right now.
Aside from the fact that Nas tops 50 in just about every way, shouldn’t the G-Unit leader be worrying about his own career? With the released material from 50’s upcoming ‘Curtis’ CD flopping all over the place, you’d think he’d look at himself first. I guess he thinks his tired routine of calling out other rappers to generate buzz will work this time. He doesn’t seem to get it – no one cares for his music anymore.
What do you think of 50’s comments?
