Since being revealed as the the winners of ‘The Pussycat Dolls Present Girlicious’ back in April, Girlicious have seldom been seen promoting their single ‘Like Me’ or self-titled LP, save for a few TV appearances here and there.

Things, however, seem to be picking up with their project, as their album will now be released on August 12th in Canada (originally due this month). You may be thinking, why Canada? Well, the girls have experienced the most success there to date, with ‘Like Me’ peaking at #4 on Canada’s official single chart and buzz single ‘Stupid Sh*t’ at #20. A US/International release is tentatively listed as simply ‘2008′.

The full version of Keri Hilson’s first official single ‘Energy’ premiered today. Some of you may remember, a snippet of the cut had been floating around a few weeks back. Having heard The Runaways produced track in its entirety, I’m a little more optimistic about Keri and her team knowing what they are doing with the project. Much of the material I’ve heard from Keri thus far appeals to me more than this, however it’s evident they are going with a radio friendly, hook-heavy, crossover cut to cater to the masses – hence broadening her appeal.

R&B singer Akon is set to be charged in connecton to the much-publicized fan-tossing incident back in June. Check out the report via PEOPLE magazine:

The YouTube clip of Akon tossing a 15-year-old fan into the crowd of a concert has come back to haunt him: Police are slapping the hip-hop star with criminal charges after a fan said she suffered a concussion in the incident.

Akon is due in a Fishkill, N.Y., courtroom Monday to be arraigned on misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment, the Associated Press reports.

During the June concert, Akon threw the audience member from the stage into the crowd. According to AP, the boy landed on another fan, Abby Rosa, who told the Poughkeepsie Journal that she suffered a concussion.

There was no immediate comment from Akon’s camp.

I’m glad. It’s about time some of these artists started taking responsibility for their actions and, by that, I don’t mean making wack ‘Sorry’ songs.

You would think that he would know better than to do something like this, particularly considering the backlash he received from the incident with underage girl. Part of me feels the fan deserved it, but Akon has a responsibilty as an artist.

Having been signed to Island Def Jam by the label’s newly appointed President of Urban Music, Jermaine Dupri, Jagged Edge are back. The R&B quartet have enlisted the help of Ashanti on the JD-produced ‘Put A Little’; the song will apparently feature on their upcoming new album. I’m liking the track alot; it’s reminiscent of their trademark slow jams. Ashanti really comes through on this one and her verse is the highlight of the song.

Future Appearances

Janet will be at Jennifer Hudson’s pre-Oscar party held by Jamie Foxx this Wednesday, so I guess we can expect new pics soon.
Janet will be visiting the board when things are set in stone. She’s really busy right now, so that’s why she hasn’t been on here.

Tour/Business Affairs

Janet still has a manager and a publicist and once things are cleared up, she will future events will be announced.
Janet is currently in Los Angeles
Janet wants to tour for the fans and we won’t hear about a tour unless it’s coming from a PR person. When that will happen is unclear.
The tour is supposed to be worldwide, including Europe and Australia; they want to hit up everywhere.
The concepts, the choreography, the staging, setlist, costumes, etc. have already been completed for the tour.
When asked if Janet still owed Virgin anything on her contract, he said Janet doesn’t owe anyone anything, so I guess we can take it that her contract obligation is completed.
The tour is supposed to be an all out dance/artistic show.
The tour will not open nor will it end with Weekend and Just a Little While
As far as getting good seats, some people in the back might win front row seats as well as diehard fans.
The dancers are fine
The Call on Me choreography will be on the tour

Future business/life

Janet is talking to another label right now, but the label she is considering is remaining confidential and she is getting offers from different labels.
