Undeterred by her omission from this year’s BET Award nominations, it’s business as usual for rapper Trina. The self-proclaimed Diamond Princess recently shot the video for ‘Hit It Right’ – the latest single to be lifted from her ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ mixtape.

Rapper Trina made headlines this week, following an angry tirade against BET – who omitted her from the Best Female Hip-Hop category at the BET Awards 2011.
With many, including nominees Nicki Minaj and Diamond, actually vouching for the Miami native,the network’s senior VP, Stephen Hill, has spoken up and out – explaining why the ‘Diamond Princess’ was excluded.

It appears last night’s nominees announcement for the BET Awards 2011 has left more than just select fans disgruntled. For, moments after the credits rolled on the 106 & Park announcement special, rapper Trina took to Twitter to let her feelings be known.
The ‘Diamond Princess’ was omitted from the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category in favour of Nicki Minaj, Diamond, LoLa Monroe, and Master P’s daughter Cymphonique. This despite releasing an album last year, and two mixtapes since then.

Lil Kim isn’t the only female Hip-Hop act with a new mixtape on the market. Trina has just released her ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ collection as a prelude to her next studio album.
However, instead of focusing her attention on pointless feuds in a bid to get attention, rapper has collaborated with a host of artists including Rick Ross, Mya, Teairra Mari and many others. Listen and download the mixtape below:
The Diamond Princess Trina lives up to her billing on the cover of her new mixtape ‘Diamonds Are Forever’. Due on March 28th, the set boasts single ‘Ghetto (ft. T-Pain)’, as well as remix to Diddy-Dirty Money‘s ‘Ass On The Floor’.
The self-professed ‘Baddest B*tch’ Trina is back – and this time she has Autotune don T-Pain entoe. Together the pair have conjured up ‘Ghetto’ – the latest release to be lifted from Miami rapper’s forthcoming mixtape – ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ (due March 28th).

Trina is preparing for the release of her upcoming ‘Save The Best 4 Last’ mixtape later this year. To build buzz for the project the rapper has put forward these new promo pics as well as a track from the collection entitled ‘Can I (Ft. Mya)’.

It seems Rihanna‘s candy-coloured hair-do is inspiring more than just Shawntae and Mae-Mae in your local hood. Rapper Trina recently revealed a look which was clearly inspired by the Bajan model’s latest gimmick.
As much as we support Trina, she’s increasingly becoming quite synonymous with the term ‘unoriginal’ these days. From the faux-Beyonce steez in ‘That’s My Attitude’ video, to this red do’ – it’s all a bit much. I mean there’s no denying she looks good. Great in fact. However, in such an image-focal industry, her copy and pasting, isn’t a good look.
BET aired a special on the history of women in Hip-Hop last evening. ‘My Mic Sounds Nice: A Truth About Women & Hip Hop’ highlighted the rise of women in the male -dominated Hip-Hop industry and that struggles they encountered. Guest commentators included Missy Elliot, Trina, MC Lyte, Lil Mama, Eve and others. Check it out below:
