d04dbedb65893348a2d72add9d971203 Report: Samuel L. Jackson To Tackle First Gay Role In New Stephen King Film

Hollywood’s favorite cool guy Samuel L. Jackson may have recently told Playboy magazine that he’d never kiss a guy on screen, but that may soon change.

The 64-year-old actor is the latest star cast to the film adaptation of Stephen King‘s 2006 best-selling novel ‘Cell’ – an “apocalyptic horror novel about a man, expected to be played by John Cusack, who tries to find his son as a powerful signal broadcast to all cell phones turns the world into bloodthirsty monsters.” (source)

As for Jackson’s role, he’s expected to portray Tom McCourt - a middle-aged gay engineer and former soldier.  At time of reporting it is unknown if the director – ‘Paranormal Activity 2’s Tod Williams - will stick to the book’s portrayal of the character or if adjustments will be made.
