It may have been four years since audiences saw on her screen, but if there was any doubt about the drawing power of Angelina Jolie, those doubts have been silenced.

For, if the predictions of industry insiders prove veritable, the spellbinding, live action take on the story of ‘Maleficent’ was just the trick needed to remind audiences of Jolie’s movie magic.  Not only will the film rule the weekend box office, but it’s on pace to give the Academy Award-winner her best opening week ever:

Via Variety:

“The Walt Disney Studios release is on pace to hit $60 million when it opens domestically in 3,948 theaters on Friday, the majority of them offering 3D screenings. If tracking holds, it will mark the highest-grossing debut in Jolie’s live-action career, topping the $50.9 million earned by “Wanted” when it launched in 2008.”

The film reportedly cost nearly $180 million to produce.

      -precisely
IF TGJ is gonna be that kinda blog that blogs about movies, then they need to at least get their research right, because this blog originally claimed it would be Angelina’s worst selling movie

BTW I will be seeing this on Saturday in 3D but I’m much more interested in the quality of the movie than the numbers it puts up because again, I won’t be seeing a paycheck for it so what’s it matter to me how much it makes?.

Awesome, everything she does is good, the most beautiful woman in the world.

    • JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse slayed) May 29, 2014

Well, she has starred in some bad films too…

      • S****** Blonde May 29, 2014

I’m yet to see a bad movie by her, she’s probably the most talented actress under 40, her legacy will be on par with the greats Meryl Streep, Bette Davis and Liz Taylor.

      • JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse slayed) May 29, 2014

??? No no no. She´s not the best actress under or over 40. Just no. She´s very good. Meryl Streep? Boy, you are dreaming…

  9. H2O May 29, 2014

Yes G0dgelina 😀 She’s simply the most flawless human being on earth, I congratulate her for everything she achieves … Grats!

For a summer movi and a budget for $180M, those are not great numbers. From Captain America 2, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla and X-men doing 91-95 million their first weeks and Neighbors doing 55 million with a 18 million budget, this is nothing to run home with. BUT, China is a huge market, so Disney may made a tone over there.

You have to be one of the most envious and saddest person you’re always so negative and never have something constructive to say you really need to seek some help.

    • JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse slayed) May 29, 2014

You are right but this is a different type of film. Its strengh should be longevity if it´s appealing enough to kids.

Slayage of future past remains unbothered 302 million ww in 4 days baby now that greats numbers
And on top of that the movie was top notch better than the amazing flop 2 and captain America : the overrated mess

    • RihIcon May 29, 2014

      Lmao dragg them

    • JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse slayed) May 29, 2014

Hmm… why you mad? Why the need to hate on every film except for one???

  13. K May 29, 2014

well alot of people was waiting on it, including myself can’t wait to go see it. i my swing by X-men too.

  14. JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse slayed) May 29, 2014

I don´t know if it will be good or not, but unlike with The Amazing Spiderman 2 or Captain America 2 or the new X Men, there are many doubts about the box office for this film, could be a hit and could be a flop.
