Sherri Shepherd made a tearful return to ‘The View‘ this week, heading back to the show for its first live episode since announcing her departure, here.

Set to exit the show alongside co-host Jenny McCarthy, Shepherd addressed her parting with the show with a little help from moderator Whoopi Goldberg, and an audience surprised to learn that she had planned to leave before bidding adieu to Barbara Walters, who retired from the series earlier this year.

Peep her explanation below…

Sherri‘s exit comes as reports indicate her spot is to be filled by former cast member Rosie O’Donnell, who split with the series in 2007 following a long-running feud with Elizabeth Hasslebeck, captured during the debate now.

On her reported return, Elisabeth said of Rosie:

The very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there. Rosie herself told me on set while we were mic’ed up  at the reunion that she produced the reunion show to have everybody together and it was her idea.Would you think that the woman who left the way that she did would be producing Barbara’s goodbye show? Here’s the shocker: It was actually her hello show.

She added:

Let’s not forget, Whoopi Goldberg is sitting there and Whoopi’s not going to let anybody control her.Whoopi has an EGOT, she has more trophies in her case than Rosie. She’s the leader on that show, I’m going to be very interested to see how that goes.I don’t think it would be wise for Rosie O’Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything,” she said when asked if she thought they’d bump heads. I really don’t.

    Lord, she’s salty as hell.

Sherri and Jenny were both fired and Elisabeth’s mad Rosie’s going to come back on a seven figure deal and she didn’t ven get a phone call.

Honestly the damn show needed to be cancelled years ago.

    • HistoRih July 10, 2014

Why would Elisabeth be mad when she’s slaying at Fox & Friends. If anything she’s been more successful than Rosie could ever dream to be since leaving the show. Rosie went to OWN and got cancelled on that ass.

    • Truth July 10, 2014

The TRUTH is that ABC made Barbara Walters leave the view, they got rid of Sherri, Jenny and executive producer Bill Geddie. They all didn’t leave because they wanted to, they were “not asked to come back.” AKA fired.

      • BadGyalRita July 10, 2014

ABC were dickheads for doing that. Barbara should have never left.

    • Truth July 10, 2014

Sherri is an idiot. She knows very little about politics and made a comment once that the “world is flat”.

How come TGJ has not been “reporting” on Beyonce’s four-year-old siblings? They claim to be fair and balanced (like FOX News). If Rihanna, Mariah, Ciara, Janet, Christina, Britney, Keri, Katy, Fantasia or Jennifer Hudson had that issue, TGJ would be all over that drama.

      Welp…

    • MDNA2014 July 10, 2014

Not true. Everybody knows they don’t talk about stuff like that even when it’s about someone they don’t like. Don’t you remember when people were saying Rihanna and JCole had a s** tape? They didn’t write about it. If they did that kinda stuff I would have stopped coming here years ago.

      • Rach July 10, 2014

        haha thank you!

    • Childers July 10, 2014

Because who cares? I couldn’t care less how many little b****** siblings Bey has out there. Her alleged 4 year old sister should be a non-issue for anyone who isn’t in that family.

That’s just an R**** fan seeeeeething like always kii kii

Looks like somebody is mad they left too early. Rosie may be a flop on her own but she is JUST what the View needed which it’s sad she only lasted a year the first time. I do agree with Hasslebeck on one thing though, Rosie better think twice if she thinks she’s going to boss Whoopi around when it comes to who they cast to replace Jenny.

  4. FantasiaSlayrino July 10, 2014

The shade of it all. So Rosie, you were pretending to be there to say bye to Queen Barbara but you were REALLY there to reintroduce yourself to the viewers, so shady and I’m not here for it. Then she has the nerve to tease Queen Elisabeth about it?! Oh hell no.

This show has been on for 20 years and across 3 decades. I remember summer vacations and it was one in the 90’s and it was just a plain, kinda boring show. It wasn’t til Rosie got on when the nation really liked it and it wasn’t til that epic fight when all eyes were on them.

That season jumped the shark imo. Stop with getting celebs and get some new not so known people.

    • Proud-Arianator July 10, 2014

      Wow you’ve been around

  6. Mark111 July 10, 2014

And Elisabeth is a b****, but that woman can hold her own. I think the hardest thing was replacing her. And who’s the new ex blonde b****? And why is she all “thanks for supporting us”, lady, we don’t know you.

    • Lana Del Slay July 10, 2014

Poor Jenny. Nobody gives a damn about her.

    • Beygency July 10, 2014

I don’t agree with literally anything Elizabeth says but she slays down when it comes to holding there own with a group of really strong women especially when she’s the only one on the panel who holds a certain view. ABC should have never fired her, that’s when I stopped watching

    • DIGGER BEY July 10, 2014

Um that maybe so about Jenny but Jenny been in the game, when Elizabeth ass was dreaming of Hollywood.

  7. PaulAllahSlaydul July 10, 2014

This show is for INTELLIGENT PEOPLE unlike The Talk and it’s high time people knew that. The women on here have world views and strong political opinions which is why I hope they cast some good people next season. Whoopi replaced Rosie so I wanna see how they get along and I wanna see who else they bring on. I’m thinking someone Right Wing or controversial like Ann Coulter.

    • Beygency July 10, 2014

No Ann is too much, they need another Elizabeth. Pretty, blond, sympathetic looking woman who can hold her own & is more moderate than Ann

      • DIGGER BEY July 10, 2014

Ann Coulter???? Hell No! The biitch stays talking left.

  8. Loco4Aiko July 10, 2014

    They should cast Toni Braxton.

    • Mark111 July 10, 2014

      Who?

      • ChakaYonce July 10, 2014

Don’t act like you don’t know who Toni is b****.

      • Mark111 July 10, 2014

I KNEW who she was. It seems that her clown of a sister is taking her shine (sadly). But the question is, why would people care for her opinion? She’s already wallpaper on her own show.

  9. RICHIE_RICH July 10, 2014

Like Mark stated this show was so so so boring in the 90’s. For me the show didn’t really get good til Rosie came.

I wonder how this will play out with Whoopi and Rosie……..

  10. RICHIE_RICH July 10, 2014

The shade is the show was created by Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, and ABC gave them the ax…..

  11. DIGGER BEY July 10, 2014

The View New Cast: Whoopi, Rosie, Mariah, Sarah Palin, and Jennifer Lopez! #MUST SEE TV

    • Beygency July 10, 2014

Why Mariah or JLo? They don’t need any singers
