wow. that looked really intense. i had my doubts about the film at first, but now…i will definitely be watching.

  2. Keri Hil’s Son November 11, 2014

I know I’ll be watching! I wonder if they will go so far as to remake the Rock the Boat video and stuff. or will they just do like the TLC movie and not directly address her death (since everyone knows how she died).

  3. tits mcgee November 11, 2014

This movie is already such a flop. No original Aaliyah music, casting sucks, rumors given as facts, etc.

I hope there is a comprehensive silver screen, retelling of Liyah’s story, soon.

    • Tasha November 11, 2014

Kylie Bunbury is playing Aaliyah in the upcoming feature film. And allegedly Keshia Chante is doing a 30 minute movie type tribute with Timbo and Missy on Vh1 to recreate some of hermusic videos.

  4. whatever November 11, 2014

Aaliyah’s “Mom” isn’t even pronouncing her name correctly. THIS IS F****** CRINGE WORTHY. Stop promoting this mess.

    • free my people November 11, 2014

U are so right. I wasnt able to thumb u up but this is so disrespectful to her family.

She was very sweet and soft spoken if u watch her old interviews. How do they know what happened if the family doesn’t participate.

    • Tasha November 11, 2014

Yes they are. If you listen to Aaliyah’s music to when Missy and Timbaland say her name on songs and even when they talk about her they say it like “uh liyah”…Thats how her family and friends pronounced it but she told people to start pronouncing it differently when she started performing and when she researched the meaning of her name etc…Just wait till the movie comes out to understand.

      • Don’t Matter November 12, 2014

Actually that’s incorrect. If you listen to ARE YOU THAT SOMEBODY, Timbaland says “Baby girl, better known as Ah-liyah”. When it first came out I thought he was saying Ali.. Until I listened closer. It’s not Uh-Liyah hence the TWO A’s to bring out the “AH” . This movie is a sham. A real one will be made later, just like they always do when a trash bio comes out– remake it again.

  5. AtHerBest…Aaliyah is Loved November 11, 2014

^^^ i kinda agree with the commenter above me. wendy is messy and i’m sure she didn’t mind using rumors and treating them like facts.

i want this movie to do aaliyah’s life justice. we’ve waited over 10 years for this

    • FAF November 11, 2014

Confused how y’all are saying it’s a rumor when they were married

      • BeyRihLiyah November 11, 2014

  6. AtHerBest…Aaliyah is Loved November 11, 2014

i agree with the TWO commenters above me

  7. #TeamTinashe Stan “Aquarius” Now In Stores November 11, 2014

I’m going to cry because this is obviously going to be terrible! SMDH.
Not watching it! And fück Wendy, she said that Aaliyah’s family “should get over it and move on” on her show. I wonder how would Wendy feel if her child passed away and she didn’t own his/her estate and people made a movie about her childs life without her consent nor want her opinions. How would she feel? It’s tasteless.

And why would I watch a movie about somebody’s life when I’m not getting 100% clarity if every scene is exactly what happened?
And God they have an airhead playing my Queen smh….

  8. lisa bobo November 11, 2014

  14. Mark111 November 11, 2014

Sadly, the ratings for this is gonna high.

  15. TheElusiveLamb November 11, 2014

This is pathetic. People just don’t want to let Aaliyah rest in peace. It doesn’t matter what part of this movie is rumor and what parts are facts, no one can take away that Aaliyah was a stunning and talented young lady who was a super star on the rise. I will miss her dearly and will not participate in watching something that is so irrelevant to her legacy. RIP Babygirl.

  16. Kiyonce’ November 11, 2014

This movie will not flop at all lol but I must say everything is wrong about this movie smh & her and R Kelly did get married honey that’s not a rumor ! & I will be watching just to see how this plays out and what other “things” we may not have known about aaliyah

  17. Sherry November 11, 2014

She doesn’t need a movie anyway, and that’s no shade.

    • BeyRihLiyah November 11, 2014

      you forgot about loose rap

sidenote: this album was so ahead of its time and it was so experimental and diverse

      • Mark111 November 11, 2014

The first album I bought with my own money and 2 weeks later she passed. But yes, I love the hints of different genres she dabbed into on each song. To this day, no album sounds like this.

    • BeyRihLiyah November 11, 2014

right and I remember her producers talked about her fourth and album and the genre direction and they said she was about to tap into alterantive rock/metal mixed with the uk garage sound basically pop-rock mixed with r&b she was about to do some MAJOR THINGS

  18. trose November 11, 2014

With all due respect…I understand aaliyahs family may be going through hard times seeing a movie without consent HOWEVER they subjected her to spotlight at 14. This is the life they allowed her to live one IN THE SPOTLIGHT. You cannot choose and pick when you want to spotlighted she was and is an ICON. They opened that door when they signed her record deal. Sad that she has no say so but Aaliyah was in fact a celebrity and all parties involved allowed her to live her life in the public. Yes she deserves a film in theatres however the bigger picture is keeping her music and memory alive and this film will do that…please don’t slay me guys my opinion.

  22. girlbye November 11, 2014

Why?!!!how can you make a movie about someone and have no one that was associated to them in the movie or in the production stages? Who are these people? Its almost like a fan made film that you and i can make!! They ruining aaliyahs legacy on the next generation smh

RIH LOOKED & SOUNDED A-MAZING AT THE CONCERT FOR VALOR POST NOW

    • NOLIES November 11, 2014

Rih who? Rihanna can’t sing. You’re acting like this b**** sounds like Mariah or Whitney in 1992. Looked amazing? Damn, I knew she was a ‘fashion icon & trendsettee’ but this has to be a milestone in history. The alien look is finally in. I guess Roger can quit living in Stan’s attic & ET can finally get unfrozen…

  25. datdude November 11, 2014

Somebody lying! Now in this clip I assume that those are her parents so how are they just finding out that she was married? Are you lying grape juice or are they lying?!

We Need A Resolution… We Have So Much Confusion…

    • NOLIES November 11, 2014

Excuse you, but Whitney was laughable performing post 1994 and the only reason that year pulled through was bc she used the prerecorded vocal from 1992… 🙁 Poor woman

    • Brian310 November 12, 2014

I remember when this song came out all the girls in my school at lunch would be trying to learn the choreography.
      #memories

  27. Tru Voice November 11, 2014

LAWD…. Messy Wendy I tell you. And next year they’ll be doing the same thing to Whitney 🙁 Although, I think this movie will be better than the Whitney one. I saw clip of Yaya “performing” and it was laughable.

    But anyways, I’ll be watching.

  28. NOLIES November 11, 2014

Seriously can’t we just let this thot and her burnt ashes rest in hell? She was a demon child who was forced into the industry and molested for mind control. She is no different than the rest. No one needs a fictional movie to avoid the truth. Of course Wendy big ass would do a movie on this, when he should be doing a True Life documentary on his life post the s** change operation…

  29. KP November 11, 2014

Yes gawd she was not innocent and if she kept the marriage from her family imagine what her friends were privy too she is not an angel. She was smart and grown enough to marry R.KELLY this girl had a perfectly controlled image and.died before any heat could come

  30. I love to get ‘2 On’ November 12, 2014

Still miss her to this day… I really loved that woman.

  31. Sarah November 12, 2014

I mean in ALL honesty this movie will NOT Flop..People may spread the hate now and call Wendy messy..But they will be the first persons to watch it and criticize… and what does that equal…RATINGS…just keeping it real

    • tits mcgee November 12, 2014

I agree with you. When I said it was a flop, I meant production wise. It seems really low budget, and a low brow affair.

I think people will tune in, just like they slow down in traffic to see, the aftermath, of a car crash..

  32. King M.J November 12, 2014

    I’ll pass, total disrespect.

  33. Brian310 November 12, 2014

It boggles my mind that a movie can be made about someone with NO Reliable source to give input into how her life was, none of her family nor peers have anything to do with this movie who knows how her family reacted to the marriage but them and you know they didn’t go around telling people seeing as Aaliyah was such a private person which she learned from her family…I’m not watching but I’m sure I’ll know how the movie goes just looking at blogs and reading the comments on future post.

  34. CzarM November 12, 2014

You all can miss me with the pointless complaining. Much as I don’t care for Wendy Williams, I have no doubt that she produced a compelling biopic (by TV standards anyway) that’ll do a decent job of trying to be real, while also highlighting Aaliyah’s best qualities. It would have been nice if Aaliyah’s immediate family and inner circle had been involved or had some kind of input, but ask yourself why they probably didn’t. I’ll go ahead an answer that: it’s because they would have tried to white-wash and water everything down to the point of blandness. It would have been a dull “Mama I wanna sing!” movie that instead of focusing on anything compelling would have tried to be yawn-inducingly inspirational. They would have played down the whole saga with R. Kelly — which is a huge part of Aaliyah’s mythology — and would have instead been a bland layout of Star Search/recording deal/Romeo Must Die/funeral. I have no desire to see a 2 hr love letter to her.
