Earlier this year, reports linked ‘Seven Pounds’ star Will Smith to a role in the forthcoming action movie ‘Suicide Squad.’

Today, any who had hoped said reports would prove to be true have seen their prayers answered, as the actor has now committed to starring in the release alongside ‘Mad Max’ actor Tom Hardy.

Details below…

The movie will touch down on August 5th 2016 and will begin filming in Toronto between the April and September of 2015, calling on Smith to play the super villain Deadshot and the British Hardy to portray Rick Flag, the ‘Squad’s leader.

‘Suicide’ marks one of two Smith projects to drop in 2016. For, this October saw principle photography begin on the movie ‘Concussion‘, which will see Will play a neuropathologist who discovers a link between concussions suffered by two NFL players and the suicides that followed them.

There are rumors that OPRAH is going to be cast as one of the “S****** Squad” characters in this film. I’m interested to see in what direction this will go.

What? That´s a really strange rumour. I don´t believe it.

Will as a villain would be dope.

I don´t like Will Smith at this point though. But I´m very excited about DC´s new universe. Especially cause it´s new (Marvel releases are being too many and all of them have the same generic plot) and because of the talent involved (Ben Affleck especially).
That said, this year every single blockbuster which was not a comic book movie was better than all of them: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Edge of Tomorrow, Interstellar, Mokingjay part 1, …, all of them quality blockbusters with depth, emotional content and great performances.
