Welcome to Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature carved out to celebrate TV and Film’s glorious past.

Today, we return to 1993 to revisit Madonna‘s erotic thriller ‘Body of Evidence.’

Directed by Uli Edel, the movie tells the tale of a young woman named Rebecca Carlson who is charged with the murder of a wealthy man.

His cause of death? Erotic asphyxiation.

What happens when the lawyer enlisted to represent her in court finds himself trapped in her deep, dark and dirty web.

Watch, if you’re 18 or over, below…

The project came armed with a budget of $30 million but only swept up $13.2 million following its January 15th 1993.

How she felt about the release at the time?

Your thoughts?

  1. ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? May 21, 2016

Just dirty, disgraceful, and disturbing. And she still had the audacity to do that “S.E.X.” coffee table book without a care in the world. I wonder what S****** Blonde thinks of this film.

Lol! I just couldn’t stand her antics during this “Erotica” era. And the thing about it is she literally exposed her entire body in the book (v***** included) AND THE ALBUM STILL FLOPPED LIKE NO TOMORROW. She’s lucky she had that Girlie Show Tour to pick her head up off the ground from looking stupid.

“Flopped like no tomorrow”??! That’s quite an exaggeration. It did still sell 2 million copies.

I Loved Body oF Evidence it’s a cool film, at that point she would have been criticised for anything she put out as it was a S** overload! lol As for the book S E X at that point A*** & H I V was still a knew thing and I recall Madonna saying that part of the reason why people are not aware and not protecting themselves is because s** is seen as dirty especially homosexual s** and eroticism, when actually in S&M people don’t actually fornicate, it’s about living out naughty fantasy’s and dressing up, she wanted to make all the kinky things we are afraid to talk about more of a coffee table conversation and stop s** from being so taboo, that way people would educate themselves about it properly by being more open and then essentially practise safer s** and safer ways of enjoying it
