“I’ve wretled with allegators, I’ve tussled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning and put thunder in jail. You know I’m bad. Just last week, I mudered a rock. Injured a stone. Hospitalized a brick. I’m so mean I make medicine sick”

He was definitely a once in a lifetime man. Great athlete, activist, and father. Definitely a role model for every generation of young man. He fought the good fight that’s for sure. Prayers go out to his family. R.I.P Muhammad Ali.

He was more than just a boxing champion. He was a hero in every since of the word! He was one of the very first if not the first celebrities of such prominence to refuse to be drafted to kill innocent people in Vietnam on behalf of the vicious US empire. His words were:

“My conscience won’t let me go shoot my brother or some darker people or some poor, hungry people in the mud for big, powerful America. And shoot them for what? They never called me n**ger, they never lynched me, they didn’t put no dogs on me, they didn’t rob me of my nationality, r*** and kill my mother and father. Shoot them for what? How can I shoot them poor people? Poor little black people and babies and children and women. How can I shoot them poor people? Just take me to jail.” — Muhammad Ali

If you haven’t watched the documentary film The Trials of Muhammad Ali I reccomend that you do. It’s by far the best of the many docs out there about him.

2016 has been on some bull****. First Natalie, then Prince and now The Greatest. A lot of older people in my family said they knew this day was coming considering his battle with Parkinson’s but nothing prepares you for a loss of this magnitude. He was truly an icon, a hero in every sense of the word and without a doubt, the greatest athlete of the 20th Century. I admire how he stood up for what he believed in even though it brought him hardship. R.I.P to The G.O.AT. My heart goes out to his family.
