The endearing yet occasionally controversial Raven-Symone has been let go by ABC’s ‘The View’
As reported here months ago, Symone’s role on the hit show was thrown into question as it approached its 20th season.
Alas, those hoping the report would amount to nothing more than a rumour will be upset to learn that she has indeed parted ways with the series.
However, all isn’t lost for the talented star.
For, her separation from Whoopi and Co will give her the time to rebuild her hit TV series ‘That’s So Raven‘!
‘Deadline’ reports:
Raven will reprise her title role of Raven Baxter in the offshoot, which she also will executive produce. On the new show, Raven is a divorced mother to two pre-teen kids (a son and daughter), one of whom has inherited her ability to catch glimpses of the future. The pilot is being written/executive produced by longtime writing/producing partners Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff (Disney Channel’s Best Friends Whenever).
The reboot will be housed by Disney who are currently on the hunt for actors to fill its roles.

Ehhh, Disney new shows suck..I don’t want them to mess this up.
They’re probably giving her this show because they feel bad letting her go after forcing her to say those anti-black remarks that costed her fans and her reputation to boost ratings for that dying show. Raven has had a long standing relationship with Disney and the ABC family so it’s no big surprise they would look out for her… plus The View ultimately benefited from her star power, it’s just that after while Raven really wasn’t a good fit for the show. She was ill informed in most topics and she struggled to articulate herself. She did well when it came to segments and interviews but overrral she wasn’t effective in her primary role.
