Joining Keith Powers to stand as one of Hollywood’s most promising African-American newbies, the actor has earned the leading role in the forthcoming ‘Shaft’ reboot!

New Line searched high and low for an actor to take on the movie once carried by Samuel L. Jackson as they penned a script to tell the tale of the character’s son.
The reboot’s name? ‘Son of Shaft.’
Production kicks off this Fall and will see Usher and Jackson join forces to tackle crime “in an uneasy collision of old school meets new school”.

This casting is completely off base. Handsome young actor but totally miscast.
The casting is not right. Too young, and not shaft-esque. RECAST. Nice guy though.
More power to him and not knocking his hustle or success, but I just don’t think he’s that talented as an actor and doesn’t convince me on his portrayal of characters.
