Report: Colin Kaepernick Sues NFL

Published: Sunday 15th Oct 2017 by Sam

Colin Kaepernick has had enough and is taking his latest battle to the courtroom.

The sports star has risen to global prominence after protesting the unjust killings of Black people in the US by kneeling for the National Anthem during NFL games.

Naturally, his actions attracted much attention – not all of which has been positive.

Indeed, he’s been relegated to free agent status; and with no teams publicly making a beeline to snap him up, his future on the field looks uncertain.

Believing the situation to be no coincident, he has filed suit.

Details below…

Per TMZ, the lawsuit alleges the league’s owners “colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick’s leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice.”

As for representation, Kaepernick is said to have hired celeb attorney Mark Geragos rather than going through the NFL Players Association. Geragos’ past clients include Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.

Ish is getting all sorts of real.

He should have done this sooner and I hope he wins. When was it illegal to have peaceful protest and why should we standby while our brothers and sisters are murdered

      Exactly

I hope he wins too but from a legal context I doubt he will win the case. He will get publicity and hopefully some entertainment gigs from this pay his bills but when it comes to the NFL, they are just like most employers in the USA that operate with right-to-work policies where an employee can be fired to no reason. In Colin’s case he was not fired. His contract was up and no team wanted to sign him on as a free agent. There is no law that says a team has to sign someone. Yes, the teams discriminated against him by not signing him but with all NFL teams have African-American players on the roster it is hard for any attorney to prove that there is a legal duty for a team to sign Colin. After all, he is a free agent among many unsigned free agents. No one is entitled to be signed to a team.

Yes, the teams discriminated against him by not signing him but with all NFL teams having African-American players on the roster it is hard for any attorney to prove that there is a legal duty for a team to particularly sign Colin. After all, he is a free agent among many unsigned free agents. No one is entitled to be signed to a team and no team should be forced to sign someone they do not want.

    • Caleb October 16, 2017

They already killed his career in the NFL anyway when he spoke out against the system.

I think some of the teams should have made him offers by now! I dont think he will win this lawsuit but I definitely understand that the man needs to get his income going again. Hopefully the lawsuit will encourage a team to pick him up or land him a job in entertainment. He is very attractive (except for his crooked nose) so I could see him getting into modeling, acting, and sports anchor gigs.

    • Unfortunate October 15, 2017

Sadly It’s not gonna encourage a team to pick him up if anything it’s well and truly over. I also don’t think he’s gonna win this lawsuit without solid proof on paper proof that he is being blacklisted because of exercising his freedom of speech.

I think that what we have is a person that has been coddled most of his life, has been earning more money than most people, is looking for attention because he realizes he’s not avery good football player who had a career year with the ’49ers and is pretty much washed up. Maybe he should go to Canada

    • Jasmine October 15, 2017

He is a good football player. He got his team to the super bowl. You don’t know what you are talking about

      • navybound October 16, 2017

I feel colin and many artists exploited the situation. Anything would have been better than black lives matter. It tried to bring attention to discrimination while dividing people. It became a celebrity phase that is no longer on trend. The founder made some money got a divorce and changed up his lifestyle. Colin out here with no job. They told colin to not do his hair, not shave and to be out here looking like a bum. That’s what fighting for your people is? Nobody asked for that. His girl put that in his head. Like I said her religion affected colin. Canada won’t take him because they can not identify with him anymore. Its time for him to get that and move on.

    • Caleb October 16, 2017

      You are truly clueless.

  5. Achooo! October 15, 2017

Good! Colin has a great case as he is being punish for advocating equality and social justice. He is bold.

  6. MessyJessy October 15, 2017

  7. Fancy BISH October 15, 2017

Wait…Colin can get it tho…he gets me so exCITED *Khia voice* lol

  8. navybound October 16, 2017

I saw him from the beginning. He was a very wholesome kid with so much potential. Ever since he got with that hot 97 nessa he went downhill. Feeding him het religion.Everybody voiced there opinion and did not lose themselves in it. This is no excuse for how he has been acting. No parent, coach or fans wanted this for him.

    • navybound October 16, 2017

      her

    • Caleb October 16, 2017

He is a hero in the eyes of millions of people. Not a bad thing to be .

  9. Caleb October 16, 2017

IT’s a damn shame the way the owners colluded in such a way to keep this man out of a job simply for not standing to celebrate a song which celebrates a genocidal imperialist country
