‘Power’ Picked Up For Season 6 / Season 5 Premiere Date Revealed

Published: Tuesday 13th Mar 2018 by Rashad

Yes, we know. It’s really been SIX MONTHS since STARZ’ hit series, ‘Power,’ aired a new episode.

Sending it’s season 4 off with quite a bang in September 2017, news around the show has been fairly quiet (much to the dismay of faithful fans of the suspenseful drama).

Now, after much ado, the suspense on when we’ll learn the latest happenings of Ghost, Tommy, Angela, Tasha, and the gang has been broken as the network’s programming programming president, Carmi Zlotnik, has lifted the lid on news surrounding the 50 Cent-produced program’s future.

Exciting details ahead:

“As Power wraps production on season five, we want to acknowledge and thank our spectacular Power team for producing another great season,” said Carmi Zlotnik, Starz President of Programming. “We are also pleased to announce a pick-up for season six.” [source]

While not offering much more detail on season 6, fans will be elated to learn season 5 will kick off on July 1 at 9/8c.

Led by Omari Hardwick as James “Ghost” St. Patrick, ‘Power’ tells the story of a businessman trying to legitimize his life by escaping his drug kingpin past. Joseph Sikora portrays his trusted longtime friend and drug dealing companion, Tommy Egan, while singer-actress Naturi Naughton plays his wife, Tasha St. Patrick. Lela Loren rounds out the leading cast as his first love, Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela Valdes.
