Marvel‘s ‘Black Panther’ continues to beef up its already impressive cast.
For, the latest name to join in the hotly anticipated flick is Hollywood royal Angela Bassett.

According to THR, the seasoned veteran will take on the role Ramonda, the mother of the title character (played by Chadwick Boseman).
Bassett’s involvement comes as another coup for director Ryan Coogler, who has assembled a strong cast for the big budget adventure.
Actors Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke and Florence Kasumba all star.
‘Black Panther’ is currently slated for a February 16th 2018 release.

I always wanted to see her play Storm. However, Lupita would make a great Storm!
Angela Bassett with white hair would have been perfect for storm!!!!
Vanessa Williams should’ve played storm back in the day. Her look and voice is so close to the cartoon characters.

No one is saying that she isnt black, but neither Halle Berry, Alexandria Shipp, nor Vanessa Williams look like the character. Storm is not supposed to be mixed. Continuously casting mixed actresses in the role further perpetuates the notion tha light dkin makes you look better. thats all I was trying to say.
No one is saying that she is not black enough. What I was trying to say is that none of the castings of Storm have been true to the character. Storm (the comicbook character) is not mixed. Neither Halle Berry, Alexandra Shipp, nor Vanessa Williams embody Storm. Continuously casting a mixed person to play the character further spreads the notion that lighter skin is prettier.
Storm will never be in the MCU because Fox owns the rights to the X-Men. That means that we will never see the Storm that we loved from the comics and cartoons. The only Storm we will see will be lightskinned and weak. 🙁
Wow! Coogler is playing precisely No Games with the casting of Black Panther.., the quality going into this movie is incredible.
This film will be a must see. I pray it shatters box office records, but on top of that hopefully it turns out to be an epic film all around.
I think its a wonderful choice. I don’t want lupita to play storm but I’ll give her a chance.
Rihanna could play storm, uno with a little acting coach now that would be great .
If Storm ever got to be in the MCU (or if Fox ever makes a real X-Men movie) I would like to see Tika Sumpter to play Storm. Her with white hair and blue eyes would be awesome

Yassss! I love Angela and have always held her in high regard. While I’m happy to see Black Panther finally come to fruition on screen, I’m not a huge fan of superhero flicks so I wasn’t necessarily checking for it. However, seeing that Angie is now gonna be a part of this, I have to watch.
