Angela Bassett’s ‘9-1-1’ TV Drama Debuts To Strong Ratings

FOX have scored an early touchdown with new procedural drama ‘9-1-1’  starring Angela Bassett.

Created by the formidable Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the show’s January 3rd debut opened to 6.8 million total viewers  (with a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating).

In doing so, the first-responder drama (which also stars Peter Krause and Connie Britton_ served as the night’s top program in the all-important demo – besting ABC’s ‘Modern Family’ in the process.

Additionally, it’s the second highest-rated drama debut this season, behind ‘The Good Doctor.’

    I will actually spend some time today watching ON DEMAND.
    I honestly didnt think this series would stand out amongst all of the others that have come out in the past two seasons — Sanaa Lathan in “Shots Fired”, Jennifer Lopez in “Shades of Blue” and the already present CSI like showcases. CONGRATS to the legend ANGELA!
