Published: Wednesday 12th Apr 2017 by Sam

In a developing story, it has been announced that actor and comedian Charlie Murphy has died at the age of 57.

According to his manager, the eldest brother of Eddie Murphy was suffering from Leukaemia and passed this morning in hospital where he was undergoing chemotherapy.

Though renown for his connection to his superstar sibling, Charlie enjoyed much success of his own – as a popular stand-up act and also with roles on ‘The Chapelle Show,’ ‘The Boondocks’ and ‘Are We There Yet.’

He also co-wrote some of his brother’s movies such as ‘Norbit’ and recently toured with Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley Eddie Griffin, and George Lopez on ‘The Comedy Get Down.’

Murphy is survived by three children, two of which were with his wife Tisha – who died in 2009 after battling cervical cancer.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Murphy family.
