Has Colin Kaepernick‘s decision to fight against systemic racism cost him his career?
It seems so…and his fans have something to say (and do about it).
Unwilling to turn a blind eye to the slayings of several African-American men and women by law enforcement, Kaepernick launched a number of peaceful protests to raise awareness for the crisis.
His weapon of choice?
Now it seems his decision has seen his become a pariah in the world of sport.
For, despite sitting atop a list of remaining free-agent quarterbacks, he has been rejected by every single team much to the horror of his fans.

No sympathy. He did it to himself. He got to make his statement. The fallout is on him. He was signed to be a player, not a political commentator. My guess is that if another team signs him, he’ll stand his ass up next time and keep the grandstanding to a minimum.
How was he grandstanding? Last I checked he was hired to play football and he did just that. Just because he chose to kneel during the National Anthem he should be punished?
You know what would send a stronger message in terms of BLM. Band together with disability and sexual equality– now that packs a bigger punch. However, when BLM discounts the Gay community and anyone else that doesn’t fit the bill, it’s hypocritical. I’m biracial and Gay. So, in fact, add mixed race to the mix also. I don’t deny white supremacy, but bring everyone that has ever been discriminated against together and you will pack a bigger punch to all of the hypocrites with double standards out their across all industries.

Apparently he thinks the world should be Mister Rogers Neighborhood, where everyone – led by the weirdos and self-described “victims” of the world – get together, drink Hot Cocoa and a sing/chant to a David Guetta mesh of “Kumbaya” and “We Shall Overcome.” This is why people don’t take millennials and hipsters seriously. This is why there is a backlash against liberals and social justice warriors. This is why Trump is president. This is why Kaepernick is being blacklisted. People are fed up with that whole attitude.
When has anybody else ever made it a point to speak up for blacks? we arent responsible for the injustices that other minorities face. We NEED to focus in our own problems before trying to fix anyone elses

His protest was misguided from the start, so I have no sympathy for him. If the flag represents police brutality and centuries of oppression of minorities in the United States, it also represents the Civil War, the Civil Rights Act, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Barack Obama. Flipping off the whole country while praising Fidel Castro made zero sense.
If he wanted to make a political statement, or stage protests about law and order, then he should have done it on his own time. Not on the field. His kneeling created a distraction, and it was deliberate. People were debating that more than they were talking about the actual games. His team lost money because of his actions. Rating suffered, fans were tuning OUT and not buying 49ers paraphernalia because of him. In the meantime, while his team suffered as a result of his actions, he was still collecting money from them.
If he absolutely couldn’t bring himself to stand for the National Anthem, then what he should have done instead was wait on the sideline, off camera, while it played. Kneeling deliberately wasn’t “peaceful protest,” it was him being passive/aggressive while purposely drawing attention to himself. The team couldn’t punish him for it, because it would’ve been a PR backlash nightmare for them in this politically charged time, and he knew that. So he doubled down on it, while they were forced to tolerate his distraction until they could legally unload him. It’s hilarious that people thought that he wouldn’t, or shouldn’t, get blowback from that petulant stunt (and it was a stunt, because KC knew his better days were behind him…this was a way to derail being traded or benched.) Other teams don’t want his drama, and I don’t blame them.
So let people “protest” the league on his behalf. In the end, it would do any more damage that what KC did while he was still playing.
I have a buddy that is big on sports, and he said that Kae was already sitting on the bench and sucking before this protest. Teams didn’t want him because he wanted (or the team) wanted too much money and he just wasn’t good at his job anymore.

Not like they were in the middle of the game and he kneeled down on the field…. most of you people talking s*** on here be talking on the phone in the movies or while someone else is speaking at an event so please don’t act as if you know what respect means.
People need to stop trying to act like this brat is Nelson Mandela and has some right to a contract. His “protest” was arrogant, self-serving and transparent to anyone who can see beyond the surface. He wasn’t kneeling for injustice; he was kneeling for martyrdom and press. He’s been past his prime as a player and he knows this. To protect his own ego (and money), he conjured up this bogus “protest” to change the subject and to delay being dropped. All this phony did was attempt to exploit the raw emotions of a hype-sensitive community for his own personal gain. Everyone who bought into this is a tool.
