After much ado, ‘America’s Next Top Model’ will be strutting back onto the box — on VH1.

The network revealed today that the “most successful fashion show in TV history” will return “reinvented.”
It had previously aired for 11 years on The CW and “ended” after 22 seasons last December.
Some of the changes to the refreshed series include a relocation to fashion capital New York and Tyra Banks‘ departure as host.
The new mother, who created the show with Ken Mok, will however continue as Executive Producer. So too will Mok.
Speaking of ANTM’s comeback, Banks said in a statement:
“After creating an incredible, global brand, I am beyond excited to have the show reborn. I will continue as Executive Producer, but must turn my attention to new business endeavors, so I want to find a new host. I’m pumped to identify that person and bring back the show. Top Model fans, you demanded that the show come back, and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth!”
Additional details on the premiere date and a new, re-imagined cast of host and judges will be announced at a later date. What is certain, however, is that new season will be comprised of 14 episodes.
Chris McCarthy, General Manager of VH1 remarked:
“We’re thrilled to bring ‘America’s Next Top Model’ back to VH1 and partner with CBS Television Distribution and Tyra Banks to reinvent this franchise for a whole new generation. This is a homecoming for the series, as VH1 helped catapult the show to cultural icon status as the first cable network to air the show after it launched.”
“We could not be more excited to bring back and breathe new life into one of the greatest unscripted franchises on television. VH1 is the perfect partner for this new endeavor and we hope this is the beginning of a long relationship.”

Oh believe me I won’t be. I’ve watched 16 cycles of top model I’m more then done. I think that moving to VH1 won’t save the series either. VH1 only acquired the rights because they think it will bring them in ratings (money). But it won’t, because if you look up the viewers ratings for Top Model you’ll see that it’s ratings by the millions have been declining ever since its launch in 2003. So clearly there isn’t a demand for it just fools gold.
I’m still waiting for Janice Dickinson’s crazy ass to be brought back as a judge. Hell, give her the hosting gig!

How about Eva Marcille as host considering she has done many things since the show including Runway, Acting/ Reality TV etc …I would say Yaya Dacosta but she doesn’t seem like the “Judgy” type and she is busy with TV and Movies …I think Top Model will do great on VH1 because of the type of Network it’s geared towards fashion and reality tv where the CW was more with TV shows leaving ANTM as the only reality show…even though I haven’t watched throughly since season 3 I do wish producers would brought on male models earlier in the initial run to capitalize on popularity and had an all male season, girl vs guy, all star and all women ran periodically …but it seems as if Vh1 core audience will cater to ANTM programming I’m sure Tyra will comeback as Mentor or Grand Judge in some context…Positive vibes for Tyra!
