‘Django Unchained’ Actress Sees “Racism” Claims Thrown Into Disrepute After New Photos Emerge From Arrest

“Nothing more than a kiss.”

‘Django Unchained‘ actress Danièle Watts has been branded a liar by some critics today, after claims that she was unfairly harassed by the Los Angeles Police Department appear to be just as fictional as the characters she plays on screen.

For, after being handcuffed and detained by police for- according to her- kissing her Caucasian husband in public,  snaps have emerged that tell quite a different story, validating the Department’s reasons for believing she was a prostitute.

Details below…

Telling fans that she was handcuffed by Sgt Parker (above) after he mistook her for a prostitute offering her goodies to a “client” who turned out to be her boyfriend, Watts shared:

Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place.

When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn’t harming anyone, so I walked away.

A few minutes later, I was still talking to my dad when 2 different police officers accosted me and forced me into handcuffs.

As I was sitting in the back of the police car, I remembered the countless times my father came home frustrated or humiliated by the cops when he had done nothing wrong. I felt his shame, his anger, and my own feelings of frustration for existing in a world where I have allowed myself to believe that “authority figures” could control my BEING… my ability to BE!!!!!!!

I was sitting in that back of this cop car, filled with adrenaline, my wrist bleeding in pain, and it occurred to me, that even there, I STILL HAD POWER OVER MY OWN SPIRIT.

Those cops could not stop me from expressing myself. They could not stop the cathartic tears and rage from flowing out of me. They could not force me to feel bad about myself. Yes, they had control over my physical body, but not my emotions. My feelings. My spirit was, and still is FREE.

I will continue to look any “authority figure” in the eye without fear. NO POLICE OFFICER OR GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL IS MORE POWERFUL THAN ME. WE ARE EQUALS. I KNOW THAT I WILL ALWAYS BE FREE BECAUSE THAT IS THE NATURE OF MY SPIRIT.

In response, the LAPD shared:

On Thursday September 11, 2014, around 3:01 p.m., patrol officers from North Hollywood Division along with a patrol sergeant responded to a radio call of indecent exposure in the 11900 block of Ventura Boulevard. The citizen who called the police to complain told the 9-1-1 operator that a male and a female were involved in indecent exposure inside a Silver Mercedes with the vehicle door open.

The responding sergeant and police officers located two individuals that matched the description of the suspects, and they were briefly detained. Upon further investigation it was determined that no crime had been committed. Ms. Watts and her companion were subsequently released.

An internal complaint investigation has been initiated regarding this matter.

Then, after an audio recording made during the arrest surfaced online, snaps taken from the scene threw Watts’ claims into disrepute, telling a picture far different from the one she painted online.

He likes the way she rides it.

The Daily Mail adds:

Sergeant Jim Parker told the Los Angeles Times that he never intended to arrest Watts or her boyfriend Brian James Lucas when he was called to an LA studio parking lot for a report of two people have sex in a car.

After refusing to give her name, Watts demands to know Sgt. Parker’s first name, before adding: ‘I think I’d like to identify you to my publicist. What’s your first name?’

She continues: ‘I guess we all have our destinies… I serve freedom and love. You guys serve detainment. That’s cool.

‘I hope you feel free… I hope when you’re f***ing your spouses you really feel alive. That you feel thankful, full of gratitude for the freedom that you have, that you share with the people of this country.’

It’s unfortunate that in a time when we are dealing with situations like in Ferguson that a black woman would throw out the race card so frivolously. Especially when it’s becoming clear that the cops weren’t aggressive and that she was being wildly antagonistic. Stories like this cheapen the very real struggle that so many go through when it comes to racial profiling.

Simply put, this woman is a moron. Her boyfriend gave the officer his ID, so why didn’t she? It had nothing to do with her being black, but rather her feeling that she held some type of power as a celebrity to where she felt as though she was entitled to do whatever–wherever she pleases. She stated that the cop handcuffed her, AFTER she kissed her boyfriend, so clearly the cop put her in handcuffs because she was being unruly in her inactions with him. Most likely making him feel alarmed enough to put her in handcuffs to make sure she didn’t pull anything crazy. No one knew who the hell she was anyway, and to be honest, after this, we’ll all forget about her or remember her as an idiot.
