Collect them coins then Mariah!

Sure, we’d much prefer a new album. But this ultimately equates to legacy extension and will bring the magic of Mariah’s music to much younger audience at “the most wonderful time of the year.”

It’s a super smart play on Mimi part – especially as this heritage act stage of her career.

She needs to let the song rest for like 3 years, then come HARD with the song and get it to chart higher and be missed. If I know she is going to perform it every year on some TV show, then it isn’t as “Christmas magical”. Bit when it is spread out far less and speraticlly, people will crave it more. But I guess she is going to capitalize off the the most successful Xmas song of modern times/90s.

You make no sense. People play the same holiday classics year after year….that’s what makes them classics. The way it’ll chart higher is for her to play the new game of charting by doing different remixes, licensing the song to other projects etc. like she has been doing so all those plays count towards the charts.
