Seriously the oscars Are so racist… I never watch anyway unless one of us wins.. Because they nominate movies about white people that I can’t relate too…

    • Sugah January 21, 2016

I can relate to all people but as a black person I’d love to see more diversity in the roles given to all people. It seems a black person can only win an Oscar if they play a s**** or a pauper. White actors are given a wide scope of roles to play and l think Hollywood would benefit if we saw actors of Color given the same scope.

Booo hooo white ppl this black ppl that stfu already

    • tay January 21, 2016

I don’t Think the Oscar adacemy are necessarily racist.
It’s more the entire climate of Hollywood today where White people are predominately being cast.

Then you have black people appear.

And then you have all other minorities who have 0% chance.

      • INCS January 21, 2016

I totally agree with you. Of course The Oscars should be diverse. Most of what I read are about The Oscars is how black people have not been included when referring to ‘people of colour’. Other minorities/races were also not included and I think people forget about that.

We’re still discussing these late ass oscars? Chile this convo is more tired than Janets whispers #next

    • Sugah January 21, 2016

You don’t care because you’re not an actor. If you were an artist you would understand what it feels like to be rejected simply because you’re black.

      • ?Queen Molly? January 21, 2016

I wouldn’t give af there is bigger shittt going on in the world besides black people crying over an oscar.

    • OMG Logic!!! January 21, 2016

People with taste for good cinema. Not that a ratchet Ciara stan would know anything about taste in art.

  6. DanYiel Iman January 21, 2016

Hasn’t watch the Oscar’s in 10 years not going to start NOW!

  7. #TeamTinashe Stan January 21, 2016

How about I start boycotting my own black people? They b*tch and moan about not getting support by white establishments but dodge and ditch their own people’s establishments? Give me a break!

P.s this comment is regarding Black entertainers overall.

  8. LB January 21, 2016

Why are we still talking about this?

  9. LB January 21, 2016

Who cares about an Oscar? It’s just a freaking award.

    • Sugah January 21, 2016

You don’t care because you’re content with being a passive consumer.

      • LB January 21, 2016

I don’t care for begging white people for recognition and privilege, which is what these Hollywood actors/actresses want.

If this was bigger than “I want massa to like me”, then they wouldn’t be shunning their own shows like the BET, NAACP Image or Soul Train awards.

    • ?Queen Molly? January 21, 2016

      Thank you!!!!!

  10. Sugah January 21, 2016

The actors want to be recognised for their work not by white people but by the peers. Like I said, you wouldn’t understand an artist’s desire for recognition and diversity because you spend all day on this site being fed information. Creators can’t be as passive as you are.

    • OMG Logic!!! January 21, 2016

No they don’t. They want to whine over nothing. Black actors know DAMN WELL there wasn’t a single Black role worth nominating this year.

      • Who Are ME To Judge January 21, 2016

???. “There wasn’t a single black role worth being nominated this year.” You watched every single eligible to be nominated before coming to that conclusion?

      • Lindsay Slowhands January 21, 2016

Damn Omg. Where did you find the time to watch each and every performance by a black actor to decide that was the case? I envy you girl, I really wish I had as much time as you. Tell me, what did you think of the capoeira fight sequence in Beasts of no Nation?

  11. OMG Logic!!! January 21, 2016

Sorry Mr. David, but the Academy didn’t opt to ignore 5h1t. If there had been a role by a Black actor good enough to merit a nomination, it would have gotten one.

    • JLaw Arny January 21, 2016

I’m confused. Do they nominate based on performance or based on race because you keep saying that they’re weren’t any worthy BLACK roles. Last I checked it was based on performance and you just exposed how little you know about all of this because several films led by black actors were nominated. The issue is that the actors themselves were snubbed. You’d know that if you paid attention.

    • La Lopez January 21, 2016

?????????. You see what happens when your default mode is deny. You basically undermined the academy you were trying to defend. Do your research baby, contrary to the lies you spew the are black films nominated but the actors in them are being overlooked so I’d like to know who told you that there weren’t any good black films out last year. I always find it amazing when people who say they don’t notice race do exactly the opposite when it comes to discussions about racism. You only notice race when you can use it to justify your own prejudices and conveniently ignore it when it disproves them.

  12. Shady81 January 21, 2016

I think this whole controversy goes beyond the Academy Awards but Hollywood more so is the problem. The Directors plus the Executive Producers there the ones that control what Hollywood does when it comes to making these films, their vision to certain films is a bit clouded with judgment on what consumers view and what they don’t, and it’s not just blacks that don’t see the prominent roles but Latinos, Asians, Native Americans, & Middle Easterns whom come from Bollywood films looking to cross over into American films. They whined up sitting on the side lines, I feel like this you can’t change on problem without paying attention to the other black people can’t scream for equality and exclude the Asians, Native Americans, Latinos, and Middle Easterns, it just doesn’t work that way if you can’t be for every ethnic nation then you mightiest well sit it the hell down.

  13. Ariana’s Grand January 21, 2016

Did anyone else notice that there weren’t any openly gay actors nominated? How does everyone feel about this.

    • Ciah’s Turtle January 21, 2016

      I don’t care

  14. King Mark111 /.\ January 21, 2016

Yo black @ss showed up at EVERY award show except the BET awards. Eff you Paspsy.

  15. HailBeysus January 22, 2016

LMAO AT THESE COMMENTS!!! Anyways, Hollywood does need more diversity in its movie roles. I also thinnk the Oscars favors fair skin. I mean how is Lady Caca going to get an Oscar nomination for a song she only changed one line on. Beyonce helped with Listens melodie and changed a few lyrics, yet The Oscars said it wasnt enough for her to quilify
